For starters, the biggest feature here is Dual Mode. At its native 3840 x 2160 4K resolution, the M27P6 runs at up to 160Hz. Aside from that, one of the biggest differences between the M27P6 and a conventional IPS gaming monitor is its MiniLED backlight with 1,152 local dimming zones. Instead of relying on a relatively simple backlight that illuminates large portions of the display together, MiniLED divides the lighting into many smaller independently controlled areas.
This allows the monitor to make one portion of the screen extremely bright while keeping another area much darker. It’s especially useful for HDR scenes such as bright explosions against a dark background, sunlight entering a dark room, or stars appearing against a black sky.
For connectivity, you get DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, USB-C, and three USB 3.0 ports.
