The screen is also very fast, as it supports a 240Hz refresh rate through both DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1, which means you can enjoy extremely smooth gameplay on both PCs and compatible gaming consoles. Fast-paced games such as shooters, racing titles, and esports games feel much more responsive because the screen can display more frames every second. The monitor also features a 1ms response time on its IPS panel. This helps reduce motion blur and ghosting, making moving objects appear cleaner and easier to track.
Unlike many fast gaming monitors that sacrifice picture quality, the IPS panel here delivers vibrant colors and wide viewing angles. The display covers up to 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, allowing games and movies to look rich and colorful. This also makes the monitor a decent option for creators who occasionally edit photos or videos.
The monitor is also designed to eliminate common gaming issues like screen tearing and stuttering. It supports both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium, which allow the display to synchronize with your graphics card, resulting in smoother gameplay and fewer distractions during intense gaming sessions.
Should you get this gaming monitor?
Overall, the LG UltraGear 27-inch QHD monitor is a well-rounded gaming display that combines a sharp 1440p resolution, an incredibly smooth 240Hz refresh rate, and excellent color performance. It’s great for both competitive gamers who want a super-fast display and casual gamers who want stunning picture quality for open-world games.
