This excellent ASUS ROG Strix gaming monitor has crashed down to just $329.00 on Amazon, with a hefty 27% discount dropping it to its lowest price in months. Now this is genuinely a great price for what you’re getting here. It’s dual mode, so you can switch between 4K at 160Hz and FHD at 320Hz, essentially giving you two monitors in one. On top of that, it’s primed for competitive gaming, thanks to its low response time and ASUS’ own ELMB Sync technology. As is the theme with ASUS ROG Strix gaming monitors, they also double, or triple up in this case, as creator-friendly displays, thanks in part to their wide color gamut. In this case, you’ve got 95% DCI-P3, which is great if you’re looking to edit video for online use, for instance.

What we like about this ASUS ROG Strix 27-inch Dual Mode gaming monitor

Dual mode for ultimate gaming versatility

This is the type of monitor that’s great for those who enjoy playing a wide variety of games, from slower-paced, cinematic titles in 4K to fast-paced competitive games, like first-person shooters, racing games, and more.

Fast IPS panel for wider viewing angles

IPS panels may not have as punchy contrast as your typical VA alternative; however, they’re great as they don’t require you to be sat dead center for the best viewing experience. Practically speaking, it means that you can shift around, reposition in your seat, or walk away from the monitor and still see what’s going on clearly.

ELMB Sync is great for competitive gaming

Unique to ASUS, this essentially makes fast-moving images look super sharp and clear, while still preserving overall smoothness. It’s pretty clever, as it combines super-fast backlight strobing (which eliminates ghosting and trails) but synced perfectly to changing framerates.

Creator friendly display

I wouldn’t say it’s a professional monitor, but it is more than enough for general creative work, like photo and video editing for web, for example. It even comes with 3 months of complimentary Creative Cloud access, too.

Stylish design with practical features

ASUS ROG Strix gaming monitors tend to lean into the cyberpunk aesthetic quite hard, in a good way, and this monitor is a great example of this. It’s the type of monitor that would work well in more futuristic setups, and work especially well when paired with other ASUS ROG Strix products, too. This monitor is also fully adjustable and, importantly, has a small base to preserve as much desk space as possible.

Is this deal right for you?

For the price, it’s a very smart pick if you’re splitting your time between 4K and FHD gaming, and occasionally do some lighter creative work. What I would say is that even though it does have 4K resolution, its HDR performance isn’t super high-end, bu t that’s exactly what I’d expect from an IPS/ LED monitor at this price range. If you want better HDR presentation, check out some mini-LED options, which would be the next-level up.
