Baldur’s Gate 3 and its setting of the Forgotten Realms is home to a collection of fantastical creatures and beings that remain memorable even months after you’ve finished playing the game. Names like Astarion, Karlach, Shadowheart, and Gale often litter official forums, with numerous pieces of fanart and theories made in their likenesses. Unfortunately, despite their importance to the story, one Baldur’s Gate 3 main character is usually left in the shadows because of their lack of plot development: Wyll.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Wyll mod series kicks off with Brightest Star
Luckily, some Baldur’s Gate 3 modders want to remedy the Blade of Frontier’s current situation with what they call the “Wyll Cinematic Universe,” a series of mods dedicated to adding more content to the cursed Warlock’s lackluster story arc. In fact, mod authors magnetuning and Aimryax have already released the first of their presumably many intended projects with Brightest Star. Available on Nexus Mods, this creation not only “adds an entirely new custom romance cutscene for Wyll in Act 3,” but it also “brings back his Early Access cuddle animation,” a feature that any Wyll believer (Wyll-iever?) will no doubt be pleased by.
Based on magnetuning’s short YouTube preview clip, Wyll also has “edited/vanilla voice lines” in this mod built from his already existing lines, so you can enjoy running through his new story content even more. Of course, there are a few requirements you’ll need to meet before you can trigger the new scene, which (spoiler alert!!) includes getting past a crucial plot point. You can check them out below:
- You’ll need to partner with Wyll.
- Break his pact with Mizora (the scene currently won’t trigger if he’s in an eternal pact with her!)
- Talk to him in the docks camp at night and select the option, “Are you alright, Wyll? You’ve been through a lot – I’m here, whatever you need.”
- The scene should play after this!!
Since magnetuning and Aimryax only recently released this mode, it’s currently unclear when they’ll launch the next one. So, if you want to enjoy even more content, why not take a look at this Baldur’s Gate 3 equipment failure mod as well?
