Brilliant Gigabyte QHD WOLED 280Hz gaming monitor hits its lowest price in 30 days at Newegg
Table of Contents
This Gigabyte QHD WOLED gaming monitor has dipped to its lowest price in 30 days and is now coming in at just $389.99 at Newegg. I’ll dive right into this, as it’s a fairly straightforward monitor to understand. In essence, it’s an OLED monitor with better HDR performance than your standard offerings, a high 280Hz refresh rate, and FreeSync Premium Pro for smooth, high-FPS gaming, and it has a few premium features sprinkled in, many of which lend themselves well to gaming/ productivity setups.
On the picture quality front, this monitor has a badge of honor in the form of a VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, acquired thanks to its very high 1500 nits peak brightness, 99.5% DCI-P3 color coverage, and 1.5M:1 contrast ratio. This is great for making games look more atmospheric, cinematic, and lifelike. As for gaming performance, with 280Hz, a low 0.03ms response time, and FreeSync Premium Pro, you’ve got everything you need for fast-paced gaming, especially in HDR where Premium Pro comes into its own.

As for premium features, you’ve got USB-C with 18W PD, and there’s also a KVM switch, which allows you to easily switch between two sources and use the same peripherals, for example, between a work laptop and a gaming PC. And of course, there’s Gigabyte’s advanced burn-in protection suite to help prevent damage and extend this monitor’s lifespan.

Who’s this monitor for? Well, I’d say that at this price, it sits nicely in the mid-to-upper range and would suit similar builds. Something with an RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti, I think, would pair very well with this monitor and be much more reasonable than a 360Hz alternative (which usually comes in around $450 to $500 from my experience). At its current price, it makes a lot of sense, and even though you could get something cheaper and similar, this particular monitor offering is far more well-rounded with decent premium features.
