Excellent 40″ WQHD ultrawide monitor spotted with decent discount on Amazon — a cost-effective pick for gaming and productivity
Table of Contents
This Innocn 40-inch ultrawide monitor is currently 20% off its list price on Amazon and comes in at just $359.95, which is not bad at all for a large, WQHD display that’s great for gaming, creative work, and productivity. There’s a lot to like about this monitor, and for the price, you’re getting something pretty versatile here.
First off, for gaming, you’ve got a 144Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync Premium, which is a decent combination for high fps, smooth gaming performance. It’s WQHD at a 21:9 aspect ratio, so you can game in ultrawide with a wider field of view. That’s great for adding a level of immersion and works well in games where there’s a lot of on-screen inventory, for instance. As for picture quality, it’s a rather basic HDR offering, but still not bad given the price. You’ve got up to 500 nits peak brightness, 95% DCI-P3 color, and a 1,200:1 contrast ratio. It’s no mini-LED, but it should still make games, movies, and shows look relatively good. The color, in fact, is actually pretty decent for creative work, especially if you need something for more accurate edits. I think the size of this monitor lends itself well to video editing, as do the DCI-P3 color coverage and its Delta E<2 color accuracy.
INNOCN 40C1R Ultrawide Monitor
There are a few genuinely useful productivity features, too, such as USB-C with 90W power delivery, allowing laptops to be connected for display and charging via a single cable. There are also PBP and PIP modes, which allow you to display two different input sources side-by-side, or as a small window on the same monitor. Both of these features make this a good option for PC and laptop setups, in particular.

Is this monitor right for you?
I’d say that if you’ve got a hybrid gaming and workstation setup, and want something decent for accurate creative editing, but not overly expensive, this monitor makes a lot of sense for the price. It’s not a premium display, however, and I think it would be worth looking at 34-inch models that are potentially mini-LED, if you want better color, brightness, and overall HDR performance. But the big thing here is that you’re getting something very wide at 40 inches for a great price. At this size, you’re going to get a much more immersive gaming experience, and plenty of room for creative work, multiple windows, and more.
