Table of Contents
Sceptre gaming monitors are a great option if you’re looking for something that’s excellent value, but still ticks all the most important boxes when it comes to performance and picture quality. This new 40-inch ultrawide model is a great example of this, and it’s currently available at its lowest price ever on Amazon at just $529.97, with a small, but meaningful 12% discount.
First up, this is a 5K2K monitor, so it’s basically a stretched-out 4K monitor. These are great if you want to play games using the whole screen for a wider field of view for an added sense of immersion, or you simply want 4K clarity on a wider screen for productivity, video editing, and everyday use. This monitor is also dual-resolution, so you can switch between 5K2K at 180Hz and FHD at up to 360Hz. This means you’re getting a display that will complement slower-paced, graphically impressive titles and allow you to game at very high framerates for competitive games, too.
Is it the highest-end ultrawide you can get? No, and it’s not trying to be, either. It scales back in a few areas to remain affordable and accessible for those who may not want to spend well over $1,000, where many ultrawide monitors can easily sit. For instance, it’s ‘HDR-ready’ and features FreeSync, instead of featuring something like FreeSync Premium Pro or having HDR 10+ compatibility, which you’ll find if you spend more cash.
