RTX 5070 graphics card
The RTX 5070 is an excellent graphics card to go for if you’re after good 1440p performance and the latest Nvidia 50-series exclusive features, but without completely breaking the bank. This card features a solid 12GB of new and improved GDDR7 memory, and boasts 4th-gen ray tracing and 5th-gen tensor cores, too. On top of this, you’ve got the impressive DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame generation, which leverages the beefier tensor cores to effectively insert up to three frames between two, resulting in much higher perceived framerates. Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor
Even though it’s now an older processor, the 7800X3D still remains one of the best gaming CPUs you can buy. It’s a smart choice for those looking to keep build costs down, but not sacrifice much in the way of gaming performance. This processor has a decent core and thread count (8+16), and high boost clock speed of 5GHz, but it’s the 3D V-cache that steals the show. This massive cache is designed to hold more data and reduce frame latency, which results in higher framerates and smoother gaming performance. While there are other CPUs that will be better for multitasking, for outright gaming performance, this is a great pick. Check out our in-depth review for more details.
Storage and RAM
This build goes for a decent 32GB of DDR5 RAM, which is great for everything from multitasking to running demanding games and creative applications. It also has a 1TB SSD, which is fine for most people, but may need a bit of storage management from time to time. For the price, it’s great, though.
Things to consider
One thing you’ll want to consider here is whether the 7 7800X3D is going to be the right one for you. In short, it’s great for gaming, but some of the Intel options may be more up your street if you’re looking for better multitasking and multithreaded performance. Content creators, in particular, could benefit from the higher core and thread counts of the Intel i7-14700F or Core Ultra 7-265K, for example.
