Gigabyte QHD, 300Hz gaming monitor is sensational value for money at under $200 with Newegg deal
Table of Contents
You can now score this briliant Gigabyte 300Hz QHD gaming monitor for just $199.99 at Newegg, thanks to a hefty $80 discount knocking its price down from $279.99. That is pretty much unbeatable value for a monitor with FreeSync Premium, a 300Hz refresh rate, and an IPS QHD display with a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. This is the type of monitor that’s great for more budget-conscious 1440p gaming builds, and its refresh rate gives you a fair bit of headroom to upgrade your GPU without having to think about swapping out your monitor when you do. For under $200, this is genuinely a real winner.

Why we like this Gigabyte 27-inch QHD gaming monitor
So there’s a lot to like here, especially for the price, so let’s break it down a bit. First off, this gaming monitor is ideally sized for its QHD resolution, hitting that sweet spot which gives you excellent picture clarity, but without the expense of 4K, or a super high-end gaming PC for that matter. In terms of picture quality, this IPS display actually boasts pretty decent color, contrast, and brightness. It’s 95% DCI-P3, has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, which means it can hit a minimum of 400 nits of peak brightness.
As for its gaming performance, this monitor has very impressive refresh rate, again, especially for the price. It comes in at 300Hz and go up to 320Hz OC, which means you can play at around 300fps at 1440p. On top of that it has a 1ms response time, which is low enough to dramatically reduce motion blur and ghosting, and help you keep track of what’s happening on-screen, even at very high framrates. It even has FreeSync Premium support, which has all the anti-screen tearing capabilities of FreeSync, but layers on low framerate compensation, making it much better for competitve gaming.

Another win here is this monitor’s extra features, which are designed very much with competitive gaming in mind. Standout features include its Tactical Switch 2.0, which allows to switch resolutions instantly with one click, and Night Vision, which allow you to spot opponents inthe shadows, without overexposing the brights.
Overall, this is brilliant monitor that has everything you’d need for 1440p, high refresh rate gaming, and for a more affordable display, we think it delivers the goods on the design front, too.
Alternatives to consider
To be honest, when it comes to 300Hz, QHD monitors for under $200, I’d say this is one of your best options to go for. I’d say that if you’re shortlisting, then you’ll want to check out some ASUS TUF gaming and Acer Nitro options, as these will be similar from a price to performance perspective. For something with a lower refresh rate, but also lower response time of 0.3ms for even less motion blur, this ASUS TUF gaming monitor would be a good call. This Acer Nitro monitor is also a good shout, and has 0.5ms response time, but for me, Gigabyte still takes the win.
