Table of Contents
This powerful Gigabyte A16 Pro gaming laptop is down to its lowest price in 30 days at Newegg, with a hefty $454 discount, coming in at $2,195.99. Now, as far as RTX 5080 gaming laptops go, this one is actually quite competitively priced given what it brings to the table. It’s not the highest-spec RTX 5080 laptop out there, but you’re still getting 32GB of DDR5, an Intel Core 7 240H, and a 165Hz WQXGA display with a 165Hz refresh rate. This configuration is going to be great for gaming in QHD/QHD+ on the go, handling creative workflows, and boasting solid multitasking capabilities, but without costing as much as, say, something with an OLED display or a higher-core-count CPU.
Standout features of this Gigabyte Gaming A16 Pro laptop
RTX 5080 mobile and Intel Core 7 240H processor
This graphics card packs 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM and 7,680 CUDA cores, alongside 4th-gen ray tracing and 5th-gen tensor cores. It’s worth noting that this RTX 5080 is configured to 115W TGP, so its performance won’t be as punchy as high-end RTX 5080 models. That being said, it’s still going to be a very capable card when it comes to gaming and creative workloads, and it also works well for more streamlined builds, such as this one. The processor here complements it well, without being completely overkill. It features 10 cores, 16 threads, a 24MB L3 cache, and a 5.2GHz boost clock speed, which makes it essentially a well-balanced option that performs well for primarily gaming, but also allows for some headroom with creative workflows and multitasking.
16-inch 165Hz display
The screen here is QHD+, or 1600p, which is going give you crisp and clear picture quality an di great for gaming, reading text, and watching content. It’s an IPS display, which gives you wider viewing angles, and has 400 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB. Decent for brighter ambient lighting conditions, and not bad for design work if you’re working primarily for web. It also has a refresh rate of 165Hz with a low 3ms response time, allowing for high FPS gaming on the go with minimal motion blur and ghosting.

32GB of DDR5 and a 1TB SSD
With 32GB of DDR5, you’ve got a lot of headroom for more asset-heavy titles and handling larger, complex creative projects in creative apps like Blender, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve. And with 1TB of storage, you’re getting a decent amount of space for games and other files, but without the added initial expense of a 2TB version straight out of the gate.
Who is this deal for?
So this laptop is competitively priced for an RTX 5080 option, and I think if you’re keen on grabbing something with 16GB of VRAM, it makes sense if you’re also trying to control overall costs. It also makes for a more streamlined, less bulky alternative to some of your typical RTX 5080 builds, which could be appealing if you’re on the move regularly. The big thing here is that its 115W TGP is on the lower side, and that you may find a better price-to-performance option in the form of an RTX 5070 Ti laptop. Overall, though, this is a solid option for the price.
