Gigabyte WOLED 280Hz QHD gaming monitor crashes to competitive price with Newegg deal
Table of Contents
If you’re looking to get a gaming monitor with an excellent price-to-performance ratio, then I’d say Gigabyte’s OLEDs should be on your shortlist. I frequently find them with excellent discounts and at very competitive price points, especially with higher refresh rate, QHD OLEDs like this one.
This 280Hz model is down to its lowest price in 30 days at Newegg, with a hefty $200 discount bringing it to just $399.99. Now, from my experience, I’d take the discount itself with a pinch of salt and focus more on what you’re getting for just under $400, which is a lot in this case. Key features here are its W-OLED display with DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, FreeSync Premium Pro, and 280Hz refresh rate.
Essentially, what you’re getting is a monitor that’s brighter than your typical QD-OLEDs at this price point and is also designed to handle competitive and fast-paced gaming with ease. Lifelike picture quality, smooth gaming performance, plus some practical and premium features that elevate it above more budget-friendly options and add a layer of versatility for non-gaming usage.

If you’ve got something akin to an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 9070 XT gaming PC, then I think this monitor would complement it well. At $399.99, it’s significantly less expensive than your typical 360Hz QHD OLED monitor, too.
What we like about this Gigabyte 27-inch QHD gaming monitor
W-OLED display is a great pick for brightness
W-OLEDs are better suited for those who want a brighter OLED experience, and this monitor can actually reach an impressive 1500 nits peak brightness. That’s different to overall brightness, however, but it does mean that highlights will look incredible, even in well-lit rooms.
KVM cross-platform control is great for PC and laptop setups
With a KVM switch, you can link this monitor up to a gaming PC and laptop, and easily switch between the two without needing to completely rewire your setup.
Oustanding color for more than just gaming
Having 99.5% DCI-P3 color doesn’t instantly make a monitor a professional display for creatives, but it does close the gap significantly. For content creators and video editors, this monitor is a good way to go.
FreeSync Premium Pro is a big win for the price
It’s not a ‘as standard’ feature by any means, but it’s super important if you’re looking to play games in HDR and want the best performance possible. And of course, it also ensures you can play competitively without running into screen tearing and stuttering, which can result in an infuriating defeat!
Should you buy this monitor?
Buy it if you’ve got a higher-end QHD gaming PC and enjoy playing both slower-paced, cinematic AAA games in HDR and playing competitive titles. Don’t buy it if you’re looking for something with a few more bells and whistles, like more advanced burn-in protection, USB-C 98W connectivity, and a splattering of aRGB. If that sounds more like you, I’d say your best bet is to look at MSI’s QD-OLED models and potentially Samsung Odyssey alternatives.
