Table of Contents
The TCL 85QM7L is a 2026 offering that sports the latest panel technology from the brand, SDQ-mini-LED QLED. This technology was designed to take the visual quality to the next level with richer colors, brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and more. Basically, you want to get as close to OLED as you can. However, this isn’t the only new aspect of this lineup, as the TCL Deep Color system, HVA 2.0 Pro panel, Color Purity algorithm, Super Quantum dots, and more make this a very feature-rich offering.
The scale of this TV, 85 inches, is perfect for large rooms and for a home theater setup, as it’ll drive a cinematic and immersive viewing experience, especially when calling upon features like Dolby Atmos and Vision IQ, audio by Bang & Olufsen, and more. For gaming, you’ll get a native 144Hz refresh rate, ALLM, and Game Accelerator 288, while the rest of the technologies come together to take care of tiny discrepancies in the picture and audio, resulting in a consistent and premium experience.
Why you should check out this massive 4K TV
TSR AI processor
This monstrous 4K TV comes equipped with the TSR AI Processor. It evaluates incoming content and makes adjustments in picture quality, contrast, color, motion, upscaling, and backlight control to help lower-resolution streams appear sharper on the 85-inch 4K display and improve detail and tonal range in content that supports it. This means that the processor doesn’t run the display with the same picture settings each time but instead dynamically adjusts those settings based on what content is on the screen. This brings clearer streamed shows, better sports, and more detail in movies.

85″ SQD-mini-LED panel with Deep Color system, HVA 2.0 Pro, and more
Combined with Quantum Dot color technology and local dimming, the 85-inch SQD-Mini LED panel delivers vibrant colors, bright highlights, and deeper shadows. Real Color technology from TCL is designed for a wider color spectrum, and the HVA 2. 0 Pro panel offers high native contrast with an anti-reflective screen to help minimize unwanted reflections. The series includes up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness and more than 2,100 zones of local dimming to enable stunning HDR highlights without losing detail in darker scenes. The huge 4K screen is just right for making your favorite movies, sports, and games that much more immersive in a spacious living room.
Audio by Bang and Olufsen and Dolby Atmos
Audio with Bang & Olufsen tuning and Dolby Atmos built into the QM7L gives you a more immersive experience in your home, without having to upgrade your soundbar right away. Dolby Atmos delivers a more expansive feel by placing compatible sound effects around and above the seating area, so film soundtracks and game audio feel more immersive. Using Bang & Olufsen tuning, the TV adjusts the sound of dialogue, music, and effects for full clarity. And for more impact in a big room, you can pair it with a soundbar or sound system.
144Hz panel and Game Accelerator 288
The native 144Hz panel delivers smoother motion for fast-paced sports, action movies, and gaming. When connected to gaming hardware, the high refresh rate helps moving objects appear clearer and more fluid, while variable refresh rate support helps reduce screen tearing as frame rates change. Game Accelerator 288 can boost supported gameplay signals to up to 288Hz at compatible resolutions and with a suitable HDMI source, making it mostly useful for high-frame-rate PC gaming. The result is a more responsive experience when tracking opponents in shooters or following rapid movement on screen.
