Working from home, or have a study area that needs a monitor upgrade? We’ve spotted the Samsung 27-inch ViewFinity S7 (S71H) monitor back at its all-time low price in a new Amazon deal. The Ultra HD monitor has plummeted back to $180, which is a far more preferable price than the recent high of $250, saving you $70 (28%) with the discount. The monitor offers a clean aesthetic, HDR10 support, and a game mode for casual gaming needs. Here’s what you need to know.

Why we’d pick the Samsung 27-inch ViewFinity S7 (S71H)

Good value 4K monitor

At the deal price, you’re getting a 4K 60Hz 27-inch monitor for under $200. That’s a win if price is a key concern in picking your next home office screen. And if you don’t need a faster refresh rate, then why spend more? The S71H could even be used as a crisp and clear second monitor.

Office-ready

The S71H has the connections it needs for a home office, with both DisplayPort and HDMI. It also supports HDR10, which is useful for HDR content, and it includes a commendable Eye Saving Mode. This mode reduces screen flicker and blue light, so your eyes are less strained and tired during longer sessions of work.

Game mode

This isn’t a gaming monitor, and with a 60Hz refresh rate, it’s easy to understand why that’s the case. However, if you do want to be able to run casual or arcade-style games at (a max viewable) 60fps, the Game Mode will instantly adjust color and contrast to make details and scenes clearer.

What to consider before you buy

This is a cost-conscious 4K monitor that can offer clear, detailed viewing for office or productivity needs. What it is not is a monitor designed with gaming in mind. If that’s what you need, check out our best 27-inch monitor list for more flexible alternatives. Also keep in mind that this monitor doesn’t have an ergonomic stand, so if height or other adjustments are key, this may not be for you.
