What we like about this Stormcraft Phantom RTX 5080 gaming PC

An brilliant processor for gaming, which also packs a very high core count

The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus features 24 cores (8P + 16E) and 24 threads. This is significantly more than, say, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and it’s part of the reason this CPU is a preferred choice for hybrid usage. With a higher core count, it’s primed to handle more than just gaming, but tasks like streaming, rendering, running background applications, and more. Gaming performance is also strong, though, as you have a 5.5GHz boost clock and a large 36MB L3 cache. Granted, it’s not as big as the 96MB L3 caches of most Ryzen X3D processors, but it’s still more than enough for high refresh rate QHD gaming and 4K, the former requiring more heavy lifting from the RTX 5080 anyway.

Robust cooling solution and roomy PC case

With the 7 270K Plus’ 250W max turbo power, if you’re using it for CPU-intensive tasks, like rendering and exporting, then a beefy 360mm AIO is a wise choice. This is going to help keep performance stable, and also take some strain off the fans when used for less CPU-intensive gaming, making for a quieter running PC.
