Right now, this Alienware M18 R2 gaming laptop, complete with RTX 4090 mobile and Intel i9-14900HX processor is going for $460 off its list price on Amazon. This brings it down from $4,459.99 to $3,999.99.

What you need to know about the Alienware M18 R2 gaming laptop
- Powerful GPU: The RTX 4090 mobile is similar in terms of performance to the desktop RTX 3090 Ti. Ray tracing, high frames per second at 1080p and 1440p, and even 4K gaming are all possible on this card, making it an excellent choice for enthusiasts.
- Top-end CPU: This 14th gen mobile CPU is found in only the highest-end laptops. It boasts 24 cores (8 performance & 16 efficiency), 32 threads and a boost clock speed of up to 5.8 GHz. 8 performance cores is great for the raw power needed for intensive, heavy duty tasks like gaming, video rendering and more, while the 32 treads make it excellent for more complex, multitasking activities. Overall, it’s a brilliant CPU to have in this laptop.
- Fast, clear display: You’ve got a 165hz refresh rate, QHD+ display here. That means it’s capable of up to 165 fps and is 16:10 aspect ratio for more screen real-estate and higher pixel density. Excellent for gaming and everyday usage.

Is this deal for you?
This deal is pretty rare from my experience, and likely due to the RTX 50-series laptops becoming a more regular sight on the market. It’s still very expensive however, so I’d say that it’s only worth it if you plan to really put it through its paces. If you’re looking for something that will make short work of games in both 1080p and 1440p at high settings, this is the one for you. It’s also going to be decent if you’re working with CPU heavy tasks, such as rendering or working with large amounts of data.
But, if you’re looking for something for 1080p, high fps, and maybe even some ray-tracing with DLSS on, then I’d highly advise looking more in the mid-range. I actually found this MSI RTX 4070 gaming laptop deal earlier, which would be a good, cost-effective alternative.
Overall, this is an excellent gaming laptop that really packs a punch. As long as you think you’re getting your money’s worth, it’s a worthy consideration at this new price.
