I’ve spotted one of AMD’s best CPUs with a solid 18% discount on Amazon, bringing its price down from $649.00 to $529.99. That’s a saving of almost $120. That’s a decent discount considering that this is a high-end CPU designed for top-tier performance, and it just so happens to be close to its lowest price ever too.

AMD Ryzen™ 9 9950X 16-Core, 32-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor
What you need to know about the Ryzen 9 9950X
The Ryzen 9 9950X released back in August 2024, and was essentially the top dog of the 9000 series. It’s based on the Zen 5 architecture, and boasts 16 cores, 32 threads, with a 5.7 GHz max boost, and massive 80MB cache.
When it was released, we got our hands-on the CPU itself. In our review, we found that even though (like the 9900X) it was a little held back due to AMD’s quest for efficiency, this is a CPU that is ideal for creating a powerful and stable platform for a PC build.
Considering this is designed for AM5 builds, it’s a great option if you want to take advantage of the latest technology also. That means that DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 are open to you, should you wish to go for this processor. That makes it a good place to start if you’re looking to refresh your system, or simply give it a good, future-proof base to build on.
That said, if you’re looking for something more for gaming, we’d also lean you towards the X3D processors instead, such as the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. These have larger and faster L3 caches, which is very important for higher fps in gaming.
Overall, this is an excellent CPU that’s designed for more high-end builds. If you’re looking for something that can make short work of practically anything you can throw at it, this is the one for you. It even looks like it’s just shy of its lowest price ever, according to camelcamelcamel, making it a great time to go for it, if you’re interested.
If you’re going for it, and looking to make the most out of your build, here are a few helpful guides that we’d recommend looking at.
