It’s a great time to score this LG 83″ OLED B6 Series TV right now on Amazon, as it’s now down to its lowest price ever on the site. It’s currently 26% off its list price, coming in at $2,499.99. Expensive? Yes, absolutely, but it’s significantly cheaper than the LG C6-Series 83″ model on Amazon right now, and for many will be a much more viable alternative for a big-screen OLED, with robust gaming features. Here’s a quick look at what it brings to the table and why it’s worth considering while it’s still at its record-low price.

What we like about this LG B6 series 83-inch OLED TV
A step up from mini-LED
OLEDs like this one are hard to beat when it comes to contrast, thanks to their self-lit pixels, which can ‘switch off’ in some sense to produce super deep blacks. They’re ideal for lower ambient lighting environments, and add a cinematic, atmospheric, and lifelike look and feel to whatever you’re watching.
Strong HDR support
Notably, this TV supports Doly Vision, which lets it change picture settings dynamically through supported movies. This makes for a much more nuanced viewing experience, where picture settings are adjusted for frames and scenes, rather than left at the same setting throughout the whole movie.

Massive size and Dolby Atmos support for immersive and big-screen viewing
83 inches is very large for most spaces, and can easily be the focal point of a dedicated home theatre/ entertainment setup. Combined with Dolby Atmos support, which allows for a 3D-like audio experience with external speakers, it has everything you need for epic movie and gaming sessions.
Excellent gaming features
It features a 120Hz refresh rate for up to 120fps at 4K, FreeSync Premium to help reduce screen tearing and stutter, and ALLM for reduced latency. And since OLED panels are incredibly responsive, you can enjoy gaming at higher frame rates without much in the way of ghosting or motion blur, too.
Alpha 8 AI Processor Gen3 is a win, especially for a TV this size
This processor essentially ensures that whatever you’re watching looks its best, even if its source quality isn’t too great. This is important at this size, as one function is to upscale lower-resolution content to appear closer to 4K native. On a large screen, that’s even more important, especially if you’re watching shows on YouTube or other streaming platforms.
Should you get this deal?
At this price range, this is a strong level-up from your typical 85″ mini-LED alternatives, and one that I think is worth it if you’re going to be using it primarily in lower ambient lighting conditions. It’s very impressive from a gaming performance perspective, so it’s going to suit your setup well if you’re pairing it with a high-end console or gaming PC. Overall, for the price, I’d say it’s well worth considering, especially if you’re also planning on leaving some of your budget for additional speakers or a soundbar.
