Why the ASUS ROG GR70 caught our attention
Ryzen 9 9955HX drives strong processing power
The Ryzen 9 9955HX is one of the best mobile processors on the market, as its sheer core and thread count of 16 and 32, respectively, allows it to handle heavy multitasking with a smile on its face. On top of that, it has a very efficient 55W TDP, meaning that it doesn’t consume a lot of power and hence should remain cool; however, we still recommend keeping this mini PC in a well-ventilated space, as the compact nature also means less space for the internal components.

RTX 5070 makes gaming easy
The mobile RTX 5070 has the performance equivalent of an RTX 5060, which means that it can easily power games at 1080p and 1440p with maxed-out graphics. This is without calling in DLSS 4.5 and MFG for help, and with these technologies part of the equation, pushing 4K should also be possible. When it comes to professional workflows such as video editing and AI, this GPU should help streamline the performance, but given its hardware limitations, pushing it to extremes isn’t recommended.
Strong focus on cooling
The main pain point of any mini gaming PC is the cooling. Powerful hardware and less space make for a quick trip to thermal throttling, but this is where the ROG QuietFlow cooling comes into play. It sports three fans for robust cooling that moves air through the entire package, ensuring that every component remains cool even during intense work sessions.
It doesn’t take up a lot of space
The dimensions of this mini gaming PC are 2.22 x 11.12 x 7.39 inches, and it weighs 6.1 pounds or 2.7 kg. This means that it really doesn’t require a lot of space on your desk, and in cases where you need to travel, you can easily keep it in your car or in your luggage and take it with you. This is one of the strongest aspects of this gaming PC.
