NETGEAR Orbi 770 Series
Key features and highlights of the Netgear Orbi 770
The package includes a main router and two satellite units that work together to create one large wireless network. Instead of relying on a single router to cover every room, the satellites extend the signal throughout your home, providing coverage of up to 8,000 square feet. That makes it a great fit for larger homes where a standard router might struggle to reach every corner.
One of the biggest highlights is support for Wi-Fi 7, the latest generation of wireless technology. The Orbi 770 can deliver speeds of up to 11Gbps, making it ready for demanding tasks like 4K and 8K streaming, cloud gaming, large downloads, and households with lots of connected devices. Even if your current devices don’t support Wi-Fi 7, the system is fully backward compatible with older Wi-Fi standards, so everything in your home can still connect without any issues.

The tri-band design is another important feature. The Orbi 770 uses dedicated wireless channels to communicate between the router and the satellites, a feature Netgear calls Enhanced Backhaul. In simple terms, this helps keep speeds fast across the entire network instead of slowing down as you move farther away from the main router.
This setup is particularly useful for busy households, as the system is designed to support up to 100 connected devices at the same time, which is more than enough for smart home gadgets, gaming consoles, phones, tablets, TVs, and laptops all running together. For people with faster internet plans, there’s a 2.5 Gig ethernet port, which allows the system to take full advantage of multi-gigabit broadband connections.
Netgear has also focused a lot on security, as the Orbi 770 includes built-in protection features, including automatic firmware updates that help keep the network secure over time. These updates happen in the background, helping protect your devices without requiring constant maintenance.
Should you get this router?
Overall, the Netgear Orbi 770 is built for households that need more than a basic router can provide. With its wide coverage area, support for up to 100 devices, Wi-Fi 7 speeds, and reliable mesh networking, it’s a strong choice for large homes and families that rely heavily on fast, dependable internet every day. The design is also solid. Unlike many routers that are covered in antennas and look overly technical, the Orbi 770 has a clean and modern appearance that blends into most homes.Â
