Newegg deal knocks MSI RTX 5080 laptop with Intel 9 275HX to its lowest price in 30 days
Table of Contents
This brilliant MSI Vector RTX 5080 gaming laptop is going for its lowest price in 30 days right now at Newegg, with a hefty $270 discount dropping it to $2,329.00. For an RTX 5080 laptop, that’s pretty good going, in all honesty, especially given what this machine brings to the table. First off, the Vector lineup in general is a great option if you’re looking for performance-driven and slightly more affordable options than the likes of MSI’s Raider and Titan series, for instance. While they’re not quite as flashy and ultra-stylish as some higher-end models, they do tick off all the most important boxes for most people and deliver the goods from a price-to-performance perspective.
MSI Vector – LCD 16″ QHD+ GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU
Now on to the laptop itself. As mentioned, it features an impressive RTX 5080 mobile graphics card, which is a beast for QHD gaming with ray tracing and can be used for 4K, too. With Blackwell features like 16GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, plus MFG upscaling, this is a powerhouse for gaming and can also handle very demanding creative workflows with ease. That’s paired with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, which is a very high-end CPU that packs an impressive 24 cores, 5.4GHz boost clock speed, and a large 36MB L3 cache. It’s an outstanding pick for the RTX 5080 mobile, which allows for ultra-smooth gaming performance and provides ample cores for heavy multitasking, streaming, and efficient workflows in popular creative applications, such as Blender and Premiere Pro.
The screen here is 16-inch and QHD+, with a very high 240Hz refresh rate. In terms of gaming, it’s going to easily provide competitive framerates, and its slightly higher than QHD resolution gives you some extra room to work with also. This laptop also features 16GB of DDR5, a speedy 1TB SSD, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, a robust cooling solution, and a 24-zone RGB keyboard.

Now, is this gaming laptop right for you? Obviously, to stay more on the affordable side (relatively speaking), it scales back in a couple of areas, which may or may not matter to you. For example, more is more when it comes to DDR5, so having 16GB is on the lower end and not quite as ideal as a 32GB configuration. You’ve also got a decent, but relatively basic screen, as it’s not mini-LED or OLED. Again, not a huge deal unless you’re looking for S-tier contrast, brightness, and color.
Overall, I’d say that if you’re after something powerful for QHD gaming on the go which also boasts impressive workstation capabilities for a very competitive price, then this laptop is well worth considering while it’s still on sale.
What we like about this MSI Vector RTX 5080 gaming laptop
Very powerful for the price
Its RTX 5080 mobile and Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX combo, paired with 16GB of DDR5 is going to steam through AAA games and complex creative workloads with ease. Considering other laptops with this pairing can cost significantly more, it’s a big win.
Its screen is everything you need for gaming
With a 240Hz refresh rate and QHD+ resolution, this screen gives you everything you need to game on the go and is not over-specced for the RTX 5080’s capabilities, either. And at this size, QHD+ resolution looks crisp and clear, without the added expense of 4K.
Less RAM and toned down design allows to spend on core components
Opting for a 16GB model is a great way to control costs, while still having enough RAM to reduce micro-stuttering and improve overall responsiveness across the board. And with a less RGB-heavy, flashy design, it means your spend is going towards components that actually affect performance, rather than those that are purely for aesthetics.
