Key features of this Omen Max Gaming Laptop
16-inch WQXGA screen
This screen is 2560 x 1600 resolution, which gives you sharp and crisp picture quality, especially when on a relatively smaller size like 16 inches. Notably, it has an impressive 500 nits of brightness, which is excellent for daytime usage and well-lit environments, and helps bolster color, making everything look more vibrant. In fact, this screen has 100% sRGB, meaning that you’re getting colors that pop off the screen, which works especially well with games. In terms of gaming performance, it has a high refresh rate of 240hz and a low response time of 0.03ms. This allows for high fps gaming and also super smooth on-screen motion, too. That’s essential for competitive gameplay.
RTX 5080 mobile graphics card
This is one of the best graphics cards you can get in a laptop, boasting a huge 16GB of GDDR7 memory, and the wide array of benefits courtesy of Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture. 4th-gen ray tracing cores, 5th-gen tensor cores, multi-frame generation, and 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders feature here, giving you access to some of the latest technology for a significant generational performance boost.

Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 processor
This processor is a top-tier, all-rounder that’s great for gaming, multitasking, content creation, and productivity. It features 12 cores, 24 threads, a large 24MB L3 cache, and a big boost clock speed of 5.1GHz, and also has a dedicated NPU for AI-tasks.
Storage and RAM
You’ve got 32GB of high-speed DDR5 RAM in this laptop, which is going to help keep everything feeling snappy and responsive, plus help with running more demanding games and applications. It has a more modest-sized 1TB SSD, which is fine for most, but you may find yourself having to do a bit of storage management from time to time.
Things to consider
The one area this laptop slightly scales back on is the screen, as it’s an IPS, not a mini-LED or OLED. While it’s bright, fast, and responsive, you may want to explore some of the RTX 5080 options from the ASUS ROG Strix, Lenovo Legion, and Alienware lineups, as these have screens that will offer more DCI-P3 color coverage and more impressive contrast ratios for more lifelike picture quality and more accurate color. For gaming, this HP option is great, but for content creation, we’d say it could be worth going for either a mini-LED or OLED.
