Newegg slashes price of ASUS TUF 240Hz curved monitor and it’s a bargain for high fps FHD gaming
Table of Contents
This ASUS TUF gaming monitor is now 50% off at Newegg and at its best price in 30 days. Coming in at just $139.99, this is a seriously good budget-friendly pick from a brand that’s one of the leaders of the pack.
For the price, you’re getting something with a curved display, 240Hz refresh rate, ELMB Sync technology for reduced motion blur, and even FreeSync Premium, which boasts low framerate compensation.
This monitor is essentially a cost-effective, but high-quality display, with excellent build quality, that’s designed for fast-paced, competitive gaming. It’s an ideal pick if you’ve got a rig that can hit high framerates in FHD, like an RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Ti build, for instance, and want something that looks and performs well, without breaking the bank.

ASUS TUF Gaming 27 inch Full HD 240Hz
What we like about this ASUS TUF 27-inch gaming monitor
Curved display for added immersion, without being overkill
With a 1500R curvature, you get to feel like you’re more ‘in the game’, but without it being too aggressive that it takes away from everyday and non-gaming usage. It’s essentially a steepness that’s in the sweet spot; great for gaming, but versatile, too.
27-inch display makes the most out of FHD resolution
As a rule of thumb, with lower resolutions, if you want the best picture quality, it pays to go a little smaller, and at 27 inches, FHD still looks crisp and clear, without the added expense of QHD or 4K. 24 inches is even better in this regard, but it’s not too practical for other uses, so we’d say 27 inches at FHD is ideal for most people.
FreeSync Premium is a big win for the price
This gives you all the anti-screen-tearing properties of FreeSync, but adds in low-framerate compensation, which generates frames when they dip below the monitor’s bottom-level refresh rate. In short, it’s designed for competitive gaming and makes everything way smoother.
240Hz refresh rate with very low motion blur for fast-paced gaming
You can game at up to 240fps with this monitor, and with its low response 1ms time and ELMB technology, you shouldn’t get much in the way of motion blur or ghosting either.
Good color for gaming
This monitor has 105% sRGB color, which is great for gaming as it means colors are very vibrant and pop off the screen. Most games are super colorful nowadays, especially popular competitive titles, so this should really enhance on-screen visuals.
Things to consider
At this price, you’re not really going to be getting anything too epic with HDR, but since it’s targeting primarily those who want to game competitively, that’s not a huge issue.
If you want something that’s a little more versatile for, say, watching HDR content or video editing, I’d recommend looking at monitors with at least a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, but these only really make sense at QHD in my opinion, so be prepared to spend around $250 and above.
MSI QD-OLED QHD monitors can be quite affordable, so if you’re looing for something more premium, but still under $500, I’d check out our current gaming monitor deals below to see what’s out there.
