Why we liked this keyboard
When it comes to gaming keyboards, ASUS ROG tend to have some of the best on the market. They are typically some of the most top-tier options on the market, tailored to enthusiasts, and priced accordingly.
Right off the bat, our reviewer Seb noticed just how premium the build quality of this keyboard was. You’re getting five-layer damping and a silicone gasket mount that really helps to absorb the sound and force of the keys. What that means is that you get a ‘dull thud’ when typing, that both feels and sounds excellent.
In terms of keyboard customization, thanks to the individual key’s RGB, the possibilities are practically endless. This allows you to really create something that is unique to you and your setup.
On top of this, you can actually adjust the actuation point of the magnetic switches. This comes in handy if you find yourself needing different actuation points for different usages. An example of this could be having a higher actuation point for a more responsive experience when gaming, and a lower actuation point for typing or everyday usage. Add this to its impressive 8,000Hz polling rate, and you’ve got an incredibly responsive keyboard.
Speaking of typing, we also found that unlike some keyboard this was nicely angled to not put too much strain on the wrists. Having a wrist rest would make this even better though, so it’s worth taking a look at those on your search too.
Overall, we think this is one of the top 65% keyboards we’ve reviewed and tested, and well worth considering at its new price point.
