Powerhouse HP gaming PC with 285K and RTX 5070 deal hits Amazon as Memorial Day draws near
Table of Contents
Memorial Day is just around the corner, and we’re seeing some tempting price cuts all around. The HP Omen 45L GT22 also got that treatment with a decent price cut, but the hardware that it houses is what really takes the cake. At its core, you’ll find the Core Ultra 9 285K, the flagship Intel processor that can handle anything you throw at it, and for the graphics department, the RTX 5070 is in charge. That being said, this gaming PC has a serious focus on productivity, as it also features 64GB DDR5 RAM.
This is overkill for gaming, but when it comes to resource-heavy workflows, having more RAM can be a game-changer, and once you experience that, there is no going back. It helps streamline the pipeline and drive faster processing and better efficiency, making it great for coders, streamers, content creators, and more.
HP OMEN 45L GT22
- 285K is outstanding multi-core performance
- 64GB DDR5 RAM is insane
- RTX 5070 can drive up to 4K with upscaling
- The processor doesn’t have the best gaming performance
- It isn’t a pocket-friendly gaming PC
Why this gaming PC caught our attention
Core Ultra 9 285K doesn’t mess around when it comes to work
The Core Ultra 9 285K gets a bad rap because its gaming performance isn’t the most impressive, but when you look at the other side of the coin, you see a performance beast that tackles multi-threaded workflows without breaking a sweat. In our Core Ultra 9 285K review, we saw it outperforming the Ryzen 9 9950X, so when it comes to work, AI, content creation, and encryption, you’ll see it among the top in these tests.

Competitive gaming performance with the RTX 5070
When it comes to the RTX 5070, it doesn’t even blink an eye at 1440p since this is the sweetspot for it, and while that is great, it can do much more than that. It was seen pushing 4K with good FPS, and in graphically demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077, ray tracing overdrive, DLSS 4, and MFG helped it churn out over 100 FPS. If that isn’t impressive, I don’t know what is. We’ve reviewed the PNY RTX 5070 Slim OC, the ASUS TUF RTX 5070 OC, and the MSI Gaming Trio RTX 5070 OC.
So, the performance of the RTX 5070 is very clear to us, and we would recommend you check these reviews out as well so you’re aware of what it is capable of and what you’ll be paying for.
64GB DDR5 RAM is the cherry on top
The most attractive aspect of this gaming PC is the monstrous 64GB DDR5 system memory. In gaming, moving from 32GB to 64GB RAM doesn’t make a noticeable difference in FPS, but for professional, heavy-duty tasks, 64GB RAM is highly sought after. Since it can store more data, enabling more to be processed at once, it helps eliminate bottlenecks and enhances efficiency in AI, CAD, rendering, video editing, data compression, and more.
