ASUS ROG G700

Gaming Desktop PC, Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 265F Processor, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5070, 1TB M.2 NVMe™ PCIe® 4 SSD, 32GB DDR5 RAM, Windows 11 Pro, G700TF-XS776

Key features of this ASUS ROG G700 gaming PC

Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor

This is one of the best CPUs to pair with the RTX 5070, if you’re after something future-proof and well-rounded for gaming and productivity. It has a much higher core and thread count than some of your typical Ryzen alternatives, coming in at 20 cores (8P +12E) and 20 threads. This makes it a very capable card for multitasking and handling multithreaded workloads, which is going to be great for streaming, recording gaming footage, running background applications like Discord, and optimizing workflows in creative applications like Blender and Adobe Premiere Pro. On top of this, it features a boost clock speed of 5.3GHz and 30MB L3 cache, which is great for high fps 1440p/4K gaming with low frame latency, although not quite as good as the popular Ryzen 7 9800X3D for pure gaming performance. Check out our review of the ‘K’ variant for more of an idea of what to expect from this CPU.

RTX 5070 graphics card

The RTX 5070 is one of the best graphics cards for 1440p to go for if you’re working with more of a mid-range budget. It’s a big step up from the previous RTX 4070, with notable improvements being found in its faster, higher bandwidth GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores. It also has exclusive features like MFG, which can be especially useful when gaming in 4K, which this card can do to some extent with the right settings. In terms of performance, its 12GB of GDDR7 is okay at maxing out textures at 1440p, and it can handle ray tracing well, especially when using DLSS. At 4K, this VRAM can become a limitation, but adjusting settings from ultra to high, and using DLSS, most games are playable at decent fps. Check out our full RTX 5070 review here for a deeper dive.

RAM and storage

It’s great to see 32GB of DDR5 here, as it’s not always the case with RTX 5070 builds. This is going to help with gaming performance in open-world titles and simulators, and improve the responsiveness of various creative applications, which are typically very RAM-intensive. It has a modest-sized 1TB SSD, which is fine for most people, especially if only a handful of games are being played on rotation.

Things to consider

At this price range, you’re pretty much in RX 9070 XT prebuild territory, so if you’re after excellent 1440p/4K gaming performance, more VRAM (but GDDR6), and a great price, then I’d suggest checking out some of these options. You may also want to consider RTX 5070, Ryzen 7 9800X3D builds for better gaming performance, as mentioned. Ryzen 7 9800X3D processors have enormous 96MB L3 caches, which are designed for very high fps gaming with low frame latency and improved 1% lows. They’re essentially the best gaming CPUs on the market, and pair very well with cards like the RTX 5070 and beyond. Check out our top gaming PC deals below to see what else is currently on sale.
