Table of Contents
This absolute beast of a gaming PC is currently $600 off on Amazon, and while expensive, it packs a serious punch for gaming and boasts impressive workstation and multitasking capabilities, too.
You’ve got an RTX 5090 paired with a Ryzen 9 9900X3D here, which is a CPU that boasts a higher core count than the popular Ryzen 7 9800X3D, but still packs a huge L3 cache, which makes it excellent for high fps gaming with ultra-low frame latency. It also features 32GB of DDR5, for reduced microstuttering in-game and rapid multitasking, a large 2TB SSD, and a robust cooling solution.
On top of that, this Omen MAX prebuild is loaded with premium features, like WIFI 7 connectivity, unique Cryo Chamber cooling architecture, a powerful liquid cooler with LCD screen, and more, which certianly helps it earn its weighty price tag. RTX 5090 graphics card
The top dog from Nvidia’s 50-series lineup, the RTX 5090, boasts 32GB of GDDR7, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, 5th-gen tensor cores, and exclusive features like MFG and 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders. It is capable of handling the most demanding AAA games in 4K with ray tracing or path tracing with ease, and a very powerful pick for 3D rendering and editing, too. We’ve reviewed an MSI RTX 5090 graphics card, which you can use to get an idea of what to expect in terms of performance. Its benchmarks can be found below.
Ryzen 9 9900X3D processor
This CPU features 12 cores, 24 threads, a boost clock of 5.5Ghz and a massive 128MB L3 cache, which puts it a cut above the Ryzen 7 9800X3D pretty much across the board. For outright gaming performance, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D makes a lot of sense, even for the RTX 5090, but with the extra cores of the 9900X3D, it offers a more well-rounded performance profile, similar in many ways to higher-end Intel options, only with better gaming performance and on the popular AM5 platform.
Things to consider
As far as RTX 5090 builds go, this is actually more on the reasonable side, all things considered, and especially given its build quality. If you’re spending this amount of cash, I’d say HP Omen is a great way to go, but I’d also check out Lenovo Legion options, which are similar in many ways, from unique cooling solutions to overall build quality and design aesthetics. With Prime Day coming up, I’m sure we’ll see some discounts; however, they likely won’t be anywhere near what we saw before PC component prices started rising. But overall, this is a solid deal on a premium PC, and well worth it if you’ve got the coin.
