If you’re reading this you’ve probably been eyeing the Core i7-14700KF, perhaps as a new upgrade from a lesser-powered Intel 14th Gen desktop CPU or a 13th Gen option. Now’s certainly a great time to bite, as a new Amazon deal has dramatically lowered the price.

The mid-range darling of the 14th Gen, the Core i7-14700KF is now at its lowest tracked price on Amazon, $295. That’s a 32% drop on its list price, but as deals come and go it’s also a clear margin below its average Amazon price.

Why we like the Core i7-14700KF

We reviewed the 14700K in April 2024 (not the KF) and the CPU led the pack for mid-range CPUs for productivity and gaming. In fact, it’s still an easy recommendation for versatile systems and features in many available prebuild systems. Unlike the ‘K’ The ‘KF’ doesn’t include integrated graphics,

  • A strong upgrade – Moving from a 13th Gen or lower-specced 14th Gen CPU will mean a sizeable step up in speed and capability.
  • Performance – a 20-core, 28-thread CPU, the Core i7-14700K can chomp through productivity workloads and deliver in gaming too.
  • Overclocking – The CPU can be overclocked as it is a ‘KF’ variant, but it does run a little hot under load. Do ensure sufficient cooling is in place, particularly if you want to overclock.
  • No integrated graphics – The Intel Core i7-14700KF does require a discrete GPU for display duties.

Who is this Intel Core i7-14700KF deal for?

Assuming you have a discrete graphics card to pair with it, this Core i7-14700KF is for anyone upgrading from an older Intel or AMD system intended for productivity, gaming, or both. It’s a really good processor to move to, and even better at its new low price.

Do take note that beyond the 14700KF, upgrades are limited to the 14900 CPUs. So if you want more options for upgrades in to the future you may be better off opting for a Socket AM5 build. In terms of general speed and flexibility though, you’re unlikely to be disappointed.
