Rapid 240Hz FHD gaming monitor drops under $100 on Amazon with limited-time deal
Table of Contents
This Sceptre gaming monitor has a solid 29% off right now on Amazon, and it’s down to just $99.97 thanks to a limited-time deal. Now, this monitor is designed to be more accessible from a pricing perspective, but still offers excellent gaming performance, especially for competitive play.
It’s FHD and sized at 24.5 inches, which is a very common resolution-to-size ratio for competitive gaming, and features a very high 240Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate is excellent for high FPS gaming, especially when combined with its low 1ms response time, which helps to reduce ghosting and motion blur. On top of that, it actually goes a level up from what most budget-friendly gaming monitors tend to offer when it comes to adaptive sync technology. Instead of the base-level FreeSync, you’re getting the Premium version here. That means that not only are you going to get something that helps to reduce screen tearing and stutter, but also low framerate compensation to offset any massive FPS dips that can occur.
Now, when it comes to picture quality, as in contrast, brightness, and color, it’s not bad, but it’s not its main feature. It’s an LED display, and it has 100% SRGB color, which is decent for everyday usage, and not too bad for designers whose work tends to be viewed mainly online. On a practical side, it has built-in speakers, which can save you some cash and save some desk space, and there’s Blue-Light Shift technology, which helps improve eye comfort when using this monitor for extended periods of time.

Who’s this monitor for?
This is a solid offering for the price; that’s going to be best suited to those who largely play competitive titles at high frame rates. Having a 240Hz monitor for under $100 is actually very good, so I think you’re certainly getting your money’s worth here if you decide to go for it.
Things to consider before buying
Of course, there are practically endless alternatives you could consider if you’re still shortlisting. Personally, I think monitors from ASUS TUF, AOC, and Acer Nitro are all very good shouts from a price-to-performance perspective, with ASUS probably being my top choice as its monitors have unique ELMB technology which can improve motion clarity.
