Stormcraft gaming PCs, at least in my experience, tend to have some impressive discounts over at Newegg and offer up a fair bit of bang for your buck, too. This Stormcraft Viper gaming PC may have a relatively modest $200 discount, but it does give you a lot for your money at its new price of $1,899.99, and is certainly worth considering while it’s still on sale.

This PC features an RTX 5070, which has 12GB of GDDR7 and is built on the latest Blackwell architecture. It’s a card that works well for QHD gaming, in particular, offering up more punching power than the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, but with slightly less VRAM. That’s paired with the Intel Core i7-14700F, which is a common processor to find in more cost-effective 50-series builds. It features a much higher core count than something like the Ryzen 7 8700F, which is found in lower-end RTX 5070 prebuilds, but a smaller L3 cache than something like the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. What you’re getting is a CPU that’s great for gaming, but also boasts excellent multitasking and workstation capabilities, making it a good option for gamers, streamers, and creatives alike.

What’s great to see here, and where this PC becomes seriously good value, is with its RAM and storage. It features 32GB of DDR5, for better handling of asset-heavy, modern AAA games, and a large 2TB SSD, which is ideal given that most large games come in at over 100GB. Read on for a closer look at its key components, and don’t forget to check out our top gaming PC deals from the sales, which can be found below.

Key components of this Stormcraft Viper gaming PC

RTX 5070 graphics card

One of the best graphics cards for QHD gaming on the market, this 50-series GPU features 4th-gen ray tracing cores, 5th-gen tensor cores, and GDDR7 VRAM. With MFG, you can use this card for 4K; however, QHD is where it works at its best. For creatives, there’s also 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders and tools like Nvidia Broadcast, which can essentially turn any room into a streaming studio. Intel Core i7-14700F processor

This is one of the best CPUs from Intel’s 14th generation lineup, and features 20 cores, 28 threads, a 33MB L3 cache, and a 5.4Ghz boost clock speed. It ticks all the boxes for high fps gaming with low frame latency, multitasking, and handling of demanding creative workflows in applications like Blender, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Photoshop. It is, however, built on the older LGA 1700 socket, so it’s not quite as future-proof as more recent LGA 1851 Intel processors.

32GB of DDR5 and 2TB SSD

The DDR5 here is RGB and is 6000MHz, which is up there with some of the fastest RAM you can get. The SSD is Gen4, which is very common to find in seemingly all but the most enthusiast-level prebuilds nowadays. While it may be older-gen, it’s still capable of delivering fast loading times in-game, resulting in a smoother gaming experience.

Should you get this PC?

If you’re looking for something for QHD gaming, streaming, relatively demanding creative work, and the latest Nvidia exclusive features, then this is a very good way to go; that’s a fair bit under $2,000. You could go cheaper and scale back on the CPU, storage, and RAM, but with 32GB really being the sweet spot right now, and some of the lower-end Ryzen CPUs having surprisingly small L3 caches, if budget allows, I’d recommend hovering around $1,700 to $1,800 to ensure you’re not stifling the RTX 5070’s performance capabilities.
