What we like about this Gigabyte Aorus Supreme 5 gaming PC
Outstanding GPU and CPU combo for gaming
This PC features the top graphics card on the market, the RTX 5090, and one of the very best gaming CPUs you can buy, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. With the RTX 5090, you can expect to play games in 4K at ultra settings with ray tracing enabled and, more often than not, hit triple-digit framerates in most modern AAA games when doing so. In one of our RTX 5090 reviews, we even saw super-demanding titles, like Cyberpunk 2077, hit 60fps, 4K with ray tracing, and that’s without using new features like DLSS 4 and MFG to boost performance.
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is also the go-to for most when it comes to gaming, largely due to its uniquely designed L3 cache, which allows for more data to be stored and accessed faster by the CPU. This drastically improves gaming performance and reduces frame latency, allowing for a much smoother, more responsive experience. You can read our full review of this powerful processor here for a more in-depth look.
64GB of DDR5 RAM and super-fast Gen5 SSD
This amount of RAM is overkill for most, but if you’re a power user, playing large open-world games or simulations, or even running RAM-intensive applications, like Adobe Premiere Pro, this is fantastic.
This PC stands out from the crowd with its SSD, too, which is Gen5 instead of your more commonly found Gen4 options. These are, roughly speaking, around twice as fast as the previous generation and significantly reduce loading and boot times. You’ll notice that when playing games and entering cutscenes, in particular. It’s also 2TB, which is a great size for larger gaming libraries.
Packed with high-end Gigabyte components
You’ve got Gigabyte’s own high-end components making up most of this build, which boast excellent build quality, performance, and looks. The motherboard is a top-end Aorus X870E, making it as future-proof as you can get for AM5 builds.
You’ve also got Aorus 360 liquid cooling and a 1000W Aorus PSU to keep this system running at its best. Of course, the case is also from Gigabyte, which features a Quad Fan configuration for maximum airflow, tooless access, and stunning tempered glass panels to give you a full view of the inner workings of this PC.
Things to consider
The only minor consideration you’d want to make is whether the CPU is the right one for you, as other options may prove better for non-gaming usage. These would include the Intel Core Ultra 9-285, or potentially the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, both of which have very high core and thread counts and lend themselves better to multi-core and multithreaded workloads than the 9800X3D.
