The Amazon Spring Sales are in full swing, and we’re seeing loads of epic deals roll in. Samsung monitors, arguably some of the best gaming monitors around, are getting big discounts – meaning you can grab high-end displays for a fraction of the list price.
It also makes it a great chance to pick up the very top-tier of panel technology, QD-OLED, for less, and we’ve found one monitor that we’re sure will tick all the right boxes.
Currently, this Samsung 27-inch QD-OLED monitor is down 31%, bringing its price down from $799.99 to just $549.99, and also back to its lowest ever price again, according to online price-trackers. There’s a lot to like about this monitor, but in short – if you’re looking for a ‘do-it-all’ style of display that’s super versatile and high-end, this deal is absolutely the one for you.

What we like about this monitor
- QD-OLED: A hybrid technology created by combining the best parts of QLED and OLED, resulting in brighter and more vivid color picture quality than traditional OLED displays. Contrast is still excellent, but not quite to the same level as OLED panels, but QD-OLED is the one for you if you’re looking for phenomenal picture quality and a screen that’s clearly visible even in well-lit environments.
- Premium response time: Response time is how quickly a pixel can change color, so the faster the better to reduce ghosting and ensure that on-screen movement is super smooth. 0.03ms is very low, and telling of the calibre of this monitor. Most low to mid-range monitors are 1ms or 0.5ms.
- High refresh rate with FreeSync Premium Pro: You’re getting 240hz here, which means you can game at up to 240fps essentially. With FreeSync Premium Pro, the highest tier they offer, you’ll be able to do so with greatly reduced chances of screen tearing.
- Cooling system: OLEDs can sometime suffer from burn in, and this is just one of the systems that helps reduce the chances of this happening. The same goes for the thermal modulation system, and logo and taskbar detection, both of which identify particular areas of the screen and reduce heat accordingly. There’s also a screen saver which will dim the monitor if not in use after 10 minutes.
- QHD resolution: Arguably the ideal resolution for most people, as gaming in 1440p at high fps only really requires a mid-range graphics card. At this screen size, it look brilliant too, as the lower pixel count isn’t stretched out to the point it loses image quality. Again, this makes it a very versatile monitor indeed.
Who’s this deal for?
This monitor deal is basically for anyone! It’s probably one of the most versatile monitors I’ve come across so far, offering incredible picture quality, high refresh rates, a size that will be perfect for most people’s setups, and all at a mid-range price point. The only thing you’re missing here is 4K resolution, which in all honesty is better utilized on bigger screens – otherwise it’s a bit of a waste for the increase in price.
As for the deal, we’d also say this is a great chance to get it at its lowest price. It has been there before, and may drop lower around the next major sales events, but those won’t be for sometime, and it does appear to snap back to full price often, according to camelcamelcamel.
