Save $120 on TCL’s 12.2-inch TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER – a very viewable Amazon tablet deal
Table of Contents
TCL may not be the first name you think of when it comes to Android tablets. But the company has been making a name for itself in the space thanks to feature-focused Android devices that offer excellent value. The TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER is one such device, and it has a middling list price of $400. However, it’s now back to its best at Amazon: just $280. That’s an impressive $120 (30%) saving on a big 12.2-inch tablet that many owners love.
Why we’d pick the TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER
Very viewable NXTPAPER screen
This tablet’s 12.2-inch screen is large, clear, and owners love it. It’s a 2400 x 1600 display, with a 120Hz refresh rate, engineered to deliver a ‘paper-like’ view. That’s characterized by a ‘soft’ viewing experience, as the screen emits less blue light, is matte for reduced glare, and automatically adapts its brightness and color temperature. The result is better comfort and enjoyment.
Strong specs, up to 2TB storage
For a midrange Android tablet, the device has a solid specs list. It’s powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 octa-core processor, capable of quick multitasking, productivity, and creative tasks. That’s backed by 6GB RAM (up to 10GB virtual RAM depending on available storage) and 256GB storage expandable to a massive 2TB via a microSD card.

3-in-1 VersaView
For work, play, or study, the tablet’s VersaView uses TCL’s exclusive NXTPAPER Key to instantly switch between Ink Paper, Color Paper, and Regular viewing modes. So you can easily choose the view for your task or need. Plus, app-level control keeps specific tasks – like reading books or viewing streamed content – in the best mode, making it easier to switch between apps.
What to consider before you buy
The overall viewability of the TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER is loved by most owners and reviewers (Amazon or third-party). Yet, the display’s maximum 500 nits of peak brightness may make it hard to view outdoors on bright days. However, if you’re looking for a big tablet for daily use, it’s tricky to find much fault at the deal price. We’d still recommend comparing with other options, but there’s a lot to like here.
