If you want a large sized high-quality OLED TV but at a reasonable price, this deal is the one for you. This 65-inch Sony BRAVIA 6 OLED delivers the central benefits of OLED: true black, precise per-pixel light control and wide viewing angles. Its native 120Hz panel, four HDMI 2.1 inputs, Dolby Vision support and Google TV platform make it a versatile option for films, streaming and modern consoles. You’ll likely want to supplement the modest 20W sound system with a soundbar for that true home-cinema experience, but this is something we’d recommend anyway with most TVs. Grab it now for $1,198.99 – that’s down $801.99 from the MSRP of $1,999.99!

The feet of this TV span approximately 31.7 inches, so a suitably wide and stable media unit is required. With its stand installed, the television measures approximately 56.8 inches wide, 33.9 inches high and 11.9 inches deep. The panel weighs around 38.2 pounds without its stand, making two-person handling advisable despite being lighter than many comparably sized LCD televisions. Wall mounting uses a 400 x 200mm screw-hole pattern. The wall, bracket and fixings must all be suitable for the television’s weight and construction material. Sony recommends professional installation where structural suitability is uncertain. Read on for more specs info, or see the bottom of this page for alternative TV deals.

What we like about the Sony 65-inch BRAVIA 6 OLED

Excellent black levels and pixel-level contrast

OLED’s most important advantage is not simply a high quoted contrast figure, but its ability to control each pixel independently. A star field, subtitle or brightly illuminated object can appear against a genuinely black background without a visible halo from surrounding backlight zones. This is especially beneficial for films with dark cinematography, nighttime games and programmes viewed in a dim room. Shadow detail can appear more dimensional, while black letterbox bars visually disappear into the surrounding bezel.

The limitation is that OLED televisions typically manage full-screen brightness more conservatively than high-output Mini LED models. The BRAVIA 6 should be most impressive in a room where direct sunlight and strong reflections can be controlled. Buyers furnishing a very bright living area may prefer a premium Mini LED television despite its less precise black level. Sony includes ambient-light sensing that can adapt picture brightness to the room. This is convenient for everyday viewing, although enthusiasts may prefer to disable automatic adjustment and choose consistent settings when watching films in controlled lighting.

Natural-looking color through Triluminos Pro

Sony’s Triluminos Pro system expands the range of reproducible colors and is designed to preserve subtle differences in shades rather than merely increasing saturation. The company advertises reproduction of more than a billion colors, reflecting the panel’s wide color and gradation capabilities. The benefit should be most visible in HDR films, animation, nature footage and games containing saturated lighting. Skin tones, skies and foliage can retain more nuanced transitions when the source has sufficient color information.

Every panel is described as individually calibrated at the factory to reduce unit-to-unit variation. Factory calibration does not replace professional calibration for mastering work, but it should provide a more dependable starting point than a highly exaggerated showroom mode. The OLED panel also maintains color and contrast well from wider seating positions. This makes the BRAVIA 6 suitable for family rooms where not everyone can sit directly in front of the screen.

Four HDMI ports with modern gaming features

All four HDMI inputs are described by Sony as supporting HDMI 2.1 features, including 4K at 120Hz, Variable Refresh Rate, Auto Low Latency Mode and Source-Based Tone Mapping. This is a meaningful advantage over televisions that restrict their full gaming feature set to only two inputs. VRR allows the television’s refresh timing to follow a compatible console or PC, reducing tearing and judder when the frame rate changes. ALLM can automatically engage a lower-latency picture mode when gameplay begins, while SBTM permits a compatible source device to participate in HDR tone-mapping decisions.

The four-port configuration leaves more room for multiple consoles, a gaming PC and an audio system without relying immediately on an external HDMI switch. One connection will generally be used for eARC when sending lossless or object-based audio to a compatible soundbar or AV receiver.

Its native refresh rate reaches 120Hz. Compatible PCs, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles can therefore output supported games at up to 4K/120fps, provided the source, software and HDMI cable meet the necessary requirements. Film and television content normally uses much lower frame rates, but a 120Hz panel also provides flexible motion handling for 24fps cinema material.

Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and DTS support

The BRAVIA 6 supports Dolby Vision video alongside Dolby Atmos and DTS audio formats. Compatible streaming services and external devices can therefore pass object-based sound to an appropriate audio system.

The television’s built-in speakers are rated for a combined 20W. They should be adequate for news, casual programmes and dialogue in a smaller room, but they cannot produce the low-frequency extension or soundstage suggested by Dolby Atmos and DTS branding on their own.

Google TV with Gemini integration

Google TV organises compatible streaming services, purchased content and recommendations within a unified interface. Major applications such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and YouTube are supported, although availability, subscriptions and regional catalogues remain controlled by their respective providers. Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2 allow supported content to be sent from phones, tablets and computers. Cast compatibility varies by application, while AirPlay is most useful for devices within Apple’s ecosystem.

Gemini extends the voice experience beyond conventional title searches. Users can ask conversational questions, request viewing suggestions and control compatible smart-home devices. Sony notes that Gemini requires a software update and is restricted to supported countries, languages and adult users; generated answers should also be checked for accuracy. A Google account is necessary for certain advertised features and personalised functions. Basic use remains possible without one, but the television will lose much of its app, voice and recommendation functionality.

Sony Pictures Core adds some launch value

Eligible BRAVIA 6 purchases include access to Sony Pictures Core, previously known as BRAVIA Core. The supplied promotion advertises five credits for selected newer films and a 12-month subscription to a catalogue of older titles, including IMAX Enhanced material. The service’s Pure Stream mode is intended to provide higher streaming bitrates than many conventional platforms, but it requires a sufficiently fast and stable internet connection. Available films can change, and credits do not provide unrestricted access to every title.

Sony states that an eligible television must be registered for the promotion within the specified eligibility period. Buyers should review the current terms immediately after setup rather than assuming that the included credits never expire.

Useful wired and wireless connectivity

Alongside the four HDMI inputs, the television provides two USB ports, Ethernet, optical digital audio and an RS-232C control connection. Wi-Fi handles streaming where running a network cable is inconvenient, while Ethernet can provide more consistent performance for high-bitrate local or online video. Bluetooth 5.3 can connect compatible headphones, speakers and peripherals. Wireless-audio latency and feature support vary by device, so HDMI eARC or optical output remains preferable for a permanent sound system.

Who should consider this Sony BRAVIA OLED TV deal?

The Sony BRAVIA 6 OLED is best suited to film and television viewers who want OLED contrast, natural color and wide viewing angles without moving to Sony’s most expensive display ranges. It should perform particularly well in a dim or moderately lit living room. It is also a strong choice for households with several modern gaming devices. Four HDMI inputs supporting 4K/120, VRR and ALLM provide more flexibility than the common two-port arrangement, while the native 120Hz panel is appropriate for both console gaming and home cinema.

Buyers seeking very high brightness for daytime sports in a sunlit room may be better served by a Mini LED television. Dedicated PC players wanting 144Hz or higher, and users expecting substantial built-in audio, should also consider alternatives or budget for an external sound system. OLED users should remain mindful of static-image retention. Interface elements, news tickers and game HUDs should not be left onscreen indefinitely at maximum brightness, and the television’s built-in panel-protection processes should be allowed to operate normally.
