Speedy ASUS ROG QHD gaming monitor sighted at a competitive price point with limited-time Amazon deal
Table of Contents
If you don’t fancy shelling out OLED prices, but still want something with strong performance across the board, then I think this ASUS ROG monitor is going to be well worth your time. It’s currently 32% off its list price and down to $209.99 in a limited-time deal on Amazon. That’s pretty competitive, given that this monitor is 240Hz/ 255Hz (OC), fast IPS, and QHD, and also happens to boast pretty impressive 97% DCI-P3 and 133% sRGB color. It even packs USB-C with 15W PD, a small foot base, and an adjustable stand, which give an extra layer of practicality, too. This is basically a very well-priced monitor that’s going to suit mid-range-style QHD gaming setups, leaning towards those who enjoy primarily playing competitive, fast-paced games.
ASUS ROG Strix 27” Gaming Monitor (XG27ACMES)
What we like about this ASUS ROG Strix 27-inch gaming monitor
Ideal size for QHD resolution
At 27 inches, PPI is still kept very high, so you’re getting crisp and clear picture quality without the added expense of 4K.
Excellent for fast paced gaming
At this refresh rate, and with a very low 0.03 ms response time, you can enjoy playing at competitive frame rates without worrying about too much motion blur and ghosting. It also has ELMB-Sync, which is designed to reduce motion blur even further, and packs FreeSync Premium, too.

Decent color for the price
97% DCI-P3 color is actually quite impressive at this price point, and shows that some level of attention has gone towards making games and other content look vibrant and more true-to-life. It makes it quite good for creative edits, but perhaps more for casual video and photo editing, rather than anything requiring mission-critical color accuracy for film or print.
USB-C with 15W is a welcome premium touch
This is great for charging peripherals or connecting devices for display. It’s not enough to charge and display with a laptop, mind you, but being able to charge peripherals via a single cable from the monitor is still a win.
Excellent viewing angles
IPS displays may not boast the very best contrast, at least compared to a typical VA, but their viewing angles are brilliant. This is great if you’re using this monitor as a main display in a room, or have more than one person viewing the screen at the same time.
Who is this deal for?
I’d say that if you’ve got a decent QHD gaming setup and you’re big on fast-paced gaming over, say, super cinematic HDR gameplay, this is a great, cost-effective option to consider. It’s a level-up from your ‘budget-oriented’ monitors, and that shows with its color, features like ELMB Sync, and quality-of-life features, which all make this monitor a more complete package.
