Record-low price returns for 180Hz Asus ROG gaming monitor – but only for a limited time
Table of Contents
We’re happy there are various viable gaming monitors available under $200. But when a more expensive, established brand gets a discount, it’s all the better. That’s exactly what we have here with the Asus ROG XG27ACS, a 27-inch 1440p model with a snappy 180Hz refresh rate to satisfy lower-end setups. At full price, it’s a $229 gaming monitor. Yet a limited-time Amazon deal has dropped it to $189. That’s a return to its record low, and a price we’d be happy to pay.

Why we’d pick the Asus ROG XG27ACS
A stylish 1440p model
For the price, the Asus ROG XG27ACS looks appealing. It’s a standard 27-inch-sized monitor supporting up to 1440p resolution, and its minimized left, right, and top bezel sides give it a little added dynamism. Plus, the stand is fully ergonomic, supporting tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments for optimal comfort.
Fast enough for the price
At the sub-$200 deal price, the 180Hz refresh rate at 1440p is good for lower to mid-range gamers who want fast gameplay support and the detail available at 2K. Supporting up to 180 frames per second, the monitor has a quick 1ms response time (gray-to-gray), and would support a step up from 1080p while providing headroom for less-capable gaming PCs to grow into.

Supports flexible use
Along with its solid gaming specs, the XG27ACS also supports ELMB and Adaptive-Sync technologies. But it also offers a wide color gamut, with a color accuracy level reported as excellent. That means little calibration may be required if you want to use the monitor for color-sensitive work, like image or video editing.
What to consider before you buy
At this price, we really like the Asus ROG XG27ACS. It’s the best price it’s ever seen, and it’s a really good option if you want a value-friendly, flexible-use monitor for gaming and more. It’s especially good if you’re getting your first 2K (1440p) monitor, and upgrading from Full HD. We’d still say it’s sensible to look around and compare models, though.
