Reduced from $1,999.99 to $1,599.99, this high-end monitor is designed for maximum immersion and crisp, lifelike picture quality. It features an impressive OLED display, which is 5K2K resolution, with dual resolution functionality, enabling gaming at 330Hz at FHD as well as 5K2K at 165Hz. It also packs FreeSync Premium Pro, which is designed to reduce screen tearing, but also features low-framerate compensation and allows for improved HDR performance, too.

LG UltraGear 45″ WUHD dual mode monitor

4K 165Hz FHD 330Hz FreeSync Premium Pro G-SYNC compatible 0.03ms USB-C HDR400 Curved OLED Gaming Computer Monitor with Height Adjustable, Swivel & Tilt stand 45GX950A-B

Key features of this LG UltraGear 45-inch gaming monitor

Dual resolution

So this monitor is unique, as it’s 5K2K resolution, which is 5120 x 2160, and also dual resolution, which allows switching between 5K/2K at 165Hz and FHD at 330Hz. What this means is that when you’re using the full screen, you’ve got very high pixel density for next-level clarity and picture quality, but, depending on the game you’re playing, it’s able to essentially switch into the best monitor for the situation. This level of versatility is brilliant if you enjoy a wide range of games, as it accommodates practically everything from super immersive, slower-paced experiences to super high fps, competitive gaming.

OLED panel

You’ve got an OLED panel here, which is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified. Monitors with this certification have to tick a few boxes when it comes to color, contrast, and peak brightness, so this is a good sign that its going to deliver well in these departments. You’ve got 98.5% DCI-P3 color coverage, a 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, and up to 1300 nits peak brightness here, which is going to add up to extremely lifelike and immersive picture quality.

0.03ms response time and FreeSync Premium Pro

A potent combination that basically means you won’t be getting much in the way of screen tearing or motion blur, even when framerates go very high, dip below the monitor’s bottom refresh rate, or if you’re playing with HDR on. FreeSync Premium Pro is unique in the way that it reduces input lag when gaming in HDR, which can cause stutter, and it also has FreeSync Premium’s Low Framerate Compensation (LFC), too.

45-inch 800R curved screen

800R is actually fairly extreme, but awesome for immersion, and on a 45-inch screen, you’re going to really feel like you’re in the game. These kinds of monitors are incredible for simulators, racing games, and open-world titles, and not bad for video editing either.

Extra features

You’ve got UB-C connectivity with 90W power delivery, which means you can connect a laptop to this for both display and charging. There are also built-in, punchy speakers, and it’s Triple UL-certified for anti-glare, flicker-free, and low blue light performance, which all add up to a much more comfortable experience when gaming for extended hours.

Things to consider

This is one of the best gaming monitors you can get, but it’s super expensive even with the discount. I’d recommend a monitor like this if you’ve got an absolute top-tier gaming PC, like something with an RTX 5080 or RTX 5090, for example, and are massive on immersion, but you may find that a 32-inch, 4K, QD-OLED dual mode monitor may be more versatile and less expensive, too. I’d say that this LG UltraGear monitor would be a solid alternative, which still gives you that immersive size and dual resolution functionality, but could easily be used for design work, everyday usage, and more. It’s also on sale, which is another win. Check out some of our top gaming monitor deals below to see what else is going for less right now.
