Table of Contents
This ASUS ROG Strix G16 gaming laptop is currently $350 off its list price at Amazon, and is reduced from $2,399.99 to $2,049.99. For a premium gaming laptop like this, that’s actually a pretty competitive price if you ask us. You’re getting an RTX 5070 mobile graphics card, a top-end Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, which is great for gaming and multitasking, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, a large 2TB SSD, and a high refresh rate, Nebula display. On top of that, there’s WIFI 7 connectivity, incredibly advanced cooling, and an eye-catching, customizable full-surround RGB lightbar, for a touch of visual flair. This is the type of laptop that’s going to be great for QHD gaming and content creation, but it’s also going to appeal to those who value high-end build quality and design.

Key features of this ASUS ROG Strix G16 RTX 5070 gaming laptop
RTX 5070 mobile graphics card
The RTX 5070 mobile is one of the best GPUs you can get for a laptop, especially if you’re after quality 1440p performance without completely breaking the bank. It’s built on Nvidia’s Blackwell Architecture, so you’re getting GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, plus exclusive features like MFG, and 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders for faster exporting speeds, and high-quality video, streaming, and more. This card, unlike its desktop equivalent, features 8GB of GDDR7, which gives you a decent amount of headroom for most AAA-games, but is limited for higher resolution textures. For high fps, 1440p gaming, though, it’s hard to beat for the price.
Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor
One of the very best CPUs on the market for laptops, and often found paired with higher-end 50-series mobile GPUs. This CPU has excellent multitasking capabilities, thanks to its 24 cores and 24 threads, which make it a quality pick for anything from gaming and running background applications, like Discord, to streaming and complex creative workflows. It also has a big boost clock speed of 5.4GHz and a large 36MB L3 cache, which makes it ideal for 1440p and even 4K without bottlenecks. It even has a dedicated NPU, which is great for live AI-accelerated tasks, like video filters, noise reduction, and more.

You’ve got an ASUS ROG Nebula display here, which is characterized by its incredible color and brightness, making it one of the top choices for showcasing games at their best, and for professional creatives and content creators. It’s 2.5K resolution, which, on a 16-inch screen, looks super-crisp, and it also has a 240Hz refresh rate with a 0.3ms response time, to accommodate high fps gaming with dramatically reduced motion blur.
Things to consider
In short, if you shop around a bit, you can find RTX 5070 laptops for less than this, as ASUS ROG Strix are some of the most premium options on the market. For something more affordable that packs excellent performance without some of the bells and whistles or flashy design, I’d personally check out some MSI, Gigabyte, and Thunderobot options, the latter of which are usually very affordable and come with pretty beefy specs for the price.
