Superb MSI 280Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor dips to a tempting price with Newegg deal
Table of Contents
MSI OLED gaming monitors are very strong options to go for if you’re looking for excellent performance, often at very competitive prices. This QHD QD-OLED model, in particular, is a very good mid-range pick, offering a high 280Hz refresh rate and very impressive motion handling. In fact, it actually has a VESA ClearMR 15000 certification, making it an excellent monitor for fast-paced and competitive gaming.
It’s now $50 off, with a further $50 off via a promo code, and at its lowest price in 30 days, too. With everything applied, it’s going for just $399.99. Now that’s a pretty competitive price point for a 280Hz QD-OLED QHD monitor, but not super uncommon. For instance, you could probably bag a similar Gigabyte monitor for the same price. The thing is, it likely won’t have such a high VESA ClearMR score, and there is something to be said for how comprehensive MSI’s OLED Care 2.0 burn-in protection suite is, too.
So is this deal for you? Well, I’d say if you’ve got something like an RTX 5070 Ti gaming PC or similar, then this monitor would pair nicely with it and won’t completely break the bank at this price either. I’d say that if you’re playing mostly competitive games, like first-person shooters, this monitor is a very strong option at its current price.

What we like about this MSI 27-inch 280Hz gaming monitor
QD-OLED display showcases games at their very best
Deep, inky blacks, accurate and vibrant color, and bright highlights make games look way more cinematic and lifelike.
280Hz refresh rate is great for fast-paced gaming, but not overkill
360Hz monitors can be very expensive, and sometimes unnecessary unless you’re a die-hard competitive gamer. 280Hz is a very good mid-ground, and an excellent choice from a price-to-performance perspective.
MSI has some serious impressive burn-in protection
It’s what sets its monitors apart from your more budget-friendly QD-OLED options on the market. Essentially, it can automatically adjust its settings to prevent burn-in, but there’s a whole host of other features designed to extend this monitor’s lifespan as much as possible.
USB-C 15W charging is a welcome touch
It’s not enough to charge a laptop, but it can easily charge a phone, tablet, headphones, and other peripherals. That’s great for reducing desk clutter.
Should you buy this monitor right now?
Personally, I think this is about as low as you’re going to get this monitor based on my experience of the market. I am seeing QD-OLED high-refresh monitors gradually get more affordable, but from the trends I’m observing, I wouldn’t say you’re going to get this much cheaper anytime soon. So yes, I’d say now is a great time to go for it.
