The KTC 24M1 is one of the best gaming monitors that we’ve seen for competitive gaming, and that too for less than $200. It has a 23.8″ QHD panel, meaning you’ll get sharp and crisp visuals thanks to the pixel density and resolution. On top of that, the native 240Hz refresh rate will keep motion super smooth, and with the OC mode, you can take it up to 260Hz. So, as long as your GPU can churn out high frames, you won’t have any issues with this gaming monitor.

Besides that, it also boasts 125% sRGB coverage and a Delta E < 2 rating, making it suitable for color-sensitive workflows. However, another aspect that is tailored for gaming is the shielding hood that blocks light from the side and allows you to focus 100% on what is happening on the screen. These aspects make it a great offering, especially with a $174.24 price tag.

What we liked about the KTC 24M1

260Hz refresh rate with a QHD resolution

The KTC 24M1 features a 23.8″ QHD Fast IPS panel with 240Hz, overclockable to 260Hz via DisplayPort. This gives high-quality visuals combined with ultra-smooth motion for a more responsive gaming experience, most of all for fast-paced shooters, racing games, and esports titles. The higher refresh rate allows you to more easily track fast-moving targets, while the QHD resolution offers sharp textures and foliage, all while Adaptive Sync minimizes tearing when frame rates drop. Just ensure that your graphics card can output frame rates at 260Hz, and set your display to use DisplayPort for the maximum refresh rate.

125% sRGB and Delta E < 2 rating

With a 125% sRGB color gamut volume and factory-calibrated Delta E below 2, the KTC 24M1 should have vibrant colors and excellent color accuracy. Larger gamut volume means it can reproduce more saturated colors than a typical sRGB display, which will give game worlds, animations, and multimedia content more life. Delta E < 2 means the difference in colors should be tough to detect, which should work well for photo editing, graphic design, and any other color-precise work. Note that 125% sRGB is a measure of volume, not coverage, so it won’t necessarily reproduce all colors more accurately.

Shielding hood for uninterrupted concentration

The KTC 24M1 features a removable shielding hood that fits onto the sides of the monitor, helping to block some of the ambient light and reflections from other sources. This helps to keep the display easier to see in well-lit environments, while avoiding potential distractions from other light sources when you’re trying to focus on a high-stakes game or working on a color-critical project. Light spill on your display can also affect the way in which colors and contrast appear, and can help create a more uniform appearance when working in difficult lighting conditions. This is most of all useful if your desk happens to be beside a window or under bright overhead lighting, and can be removed if you’d rather go ‘heads-down’.
