XFX Speedster SWFT319 Radeon RX 6800

16GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA 2, XFX SWFT 319 Triple Fan, Boost Clock Up To 2105MHz

It’s been a while since AMD released the RX 6800 as a high-end gaming graphics card. Since then, video games have evolved, and while the RX 6800 may not deliver impressive 4K or ray tracing performance, it’s still an excellent choice for 1080p or 1440p gaming – especially for those on a tight budget.

Currently, the RX 6800 has dropped in price to $359 from its usual $459 price tag, meaning you’ll get a massive 22% discount and $100 back in your wallet. This discount is specifically on the XFX Speedster SWFT319 Radeon RX 6800, which comes with 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a triple-fan layout for efficient cooling. Funny enough, this price is only $1 more than the lowest price ever for this GPU listed on Amazon (according to CCC), making it a deal you don’t want to miss.

How well does the RX 6800 stack up?

Despite being a 4-year-old graphics card, the RX 6800 still handles modern AAA titles at 1080p and 1440p with ease. In our review of the RX 6800, we found it to be a solid option for both gamers and professionals. For gamers, benchmarking Cyberpunk 2077 showed over 100 FPS at 1080p Ultra and a modest 60+ FPS at 1440p, beating Nvidia’s RTX 3070. For creative professionals, the RX 6800 came close to the RTX 4070 and showed a solid performance increase over the 3070.

Unfortunately, native 4K performance isn’t ideal with this card, as it struggles to maintain a stable 30 FPS. Ray-tracing performance also isn’t its strong suit, and it’s something you shouldn’t expect from such an older AMD card.

Still better than the new PS5 Pro

Overall, the RX 6800 is a great card for its price, and an additional $100 discount makes this deal even more appealing. Interestingly, we recently saw the RX 6800 compared to the new PS5 Pro, with results favoring Red Team’s unit. In an unlisted enhanced game for the PS5 Pro, Elden Ring, the PS5 Pro struggled to maintain a stable 60 FPS at 4K, whereas the RX 6800, despite not being the best 4K option, delivered a much smoother and stutter-free experience. So, the RX 6800 still has a lot to offer, and if you’re building your first gaming PC and need affordable yet powerful components, it’s one of the best budget GPUs you can choose.
