This Hisense 50-inch mini-LED TV is sitting at its lowest price on Amazon right now, with a decent 12% off, dropping it to just $397.99. Now, as far as mini-LED TVs go, this one delivers excellent bang for your buck. One key differentiator with this TV, compared to your entry-level mini-LED models, is that it has a 144Hz native refresh rate and packs some impressive gaming features, like FreeSync Premium, too. This makes this TV well-suited to higher-end consoles and PCs, like the PS5 or any build capable of delivering over 60fps at 4K.

You may be wondering whether going for a mini-LED TV is worth it for the extra spend. I’d say it is, if you’re looking for something that can deliver better contrast and brightness than your typical LED/LCD options. Thanks to featuring smaller LEDs (hence the name), this TV has way more control over brightness and contrast, which ultimately makes everything look more lifelike, immersive, and cinematic.

What’s more, at this price point, TVs like this tend to have wider HDR compatibility. This model is pretty comprehensive in this regard, supporting Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ Adaptive, and HLG. Dolby Vision IQ is especially interesting, as it means that the TV can adjust its picture settings more dynamically (frame-by-frame or scene-by-scene) and take into account ambient lighting conditions, too. For movie nights, this is a game-changer.

There are a few features designed to enhance different types of content you may be watching, too. Standout features include AI Smooth Motion with MEMC, which is good to have if you’re watching fast-paced sports, and AI Picture, which adjusts picture settings in real time for the best possible experience.

Why go for this Hisense 50-inch Hi-QLED mini-LED TV?

Ticks off the most important boxes, while staying cost-effective

It doesn’t noticeably scale back in any of the most important areas, when it comes to picture quality, HDR compatibility, and gaming performance. Even the AI features are excellent, without being too overboard for most people.

It’s a very good size for more than just bedrooms and offices

When it comes to sizing, it’s all about how far away from the TV you’re sitting, rather than the size of the room itself. 50 inches is surprisingly large if you’re sitting relatively close to it, making it a strong choice for a wide range of different room sizes. Plus, it’s one of the more affordable sizes, too.

144Hz with FreeSync Premium is seriously good for gaming

FreeSync Premium is found in most gaming monitors and essentially reduces screen tearing and stuttering when gaming. It’s a must-have if you’re looking for a smoother, more responsive gaming experience, especially if you’re playing competitive titles.

Things to consider before buying

Not all mini-LED TVs are the same, as some models have way more dimming zones than others, which means that their HDR presentation is going to be better in most cases. This Hisense model is on the lower-middle end, for reference, but it’s still excellent. Be sure to check out our other top TV deals below to see what else is out there.
