PCSX2 PlayStation 2 Emulator

The open source PS2 emulator

PSCX2 has been around for nearly 20 years and over that time has come leaps and bounds from the weird, laggy mess it used to be.

The emulator has an astonishing 97.69% of games in a playable state and ever continuous updates over the last two decades have resulted in one of the finer emulators out there.

It’s also unique amongst emulators for being one of the very few that actually accepts the original discs, meaning there’s no acquiring or dumping needed to get the games you want to play in a much higher quality than originally intended.

PCSX2 can now play games at 60FPS, making their current HD rereleases not so enticing, but also is able to play them at 4K with some texture smoothing to help ease the transition from 480p to resolutions beyond.
