Introduced with iOS 14, the App Library is a very handy feature for sorting your apps out on your Home Screen.

You can find the App Library by accessing your iPhone Home Page and scrolling across to the far right. This is how you can access the App Library.

Once you have found the App Library, you will notice that the Apps are all grouped in categories. You may see your apps stored under gaming, social media, cooking, reading, or shopping.

You cannot move the apps around, but there are easy ways of using the App Library to make the most of this handy feature.

How To Find Your Apps In The App Library

There are a couple of ways that you can find your apps in the App Library. You can use whichever method you find the easiest to access your apps!

Search All

There is a Search All feature in the App Library where you can search through all of the apps to find the one that you are looking for.

When you find the App Library, you will notice that there is a box located at the top of the screen that says App Library.

When you click in this box, you can search for the app that you are looking for and it will come up. Once your chosen app has been found, simply click on it to open it.

Find The Folder

When you have accessed the App Library, you will see all of your apps grouped in folders under the right category. In the folders, you will see that some apps are normal-sized and some are smaller. 

If you click on the normal-sized apps, you will open the app straight away. If you click on the smaller apps, it will open up the whole file, enabling you to open the other apps if you need to.

Can You Hide Apps?

If you are particular about which apps you like to have on show on your Home Screen, you can use the App Library to declutter your Home Screen and store apps.

If you decide to remove an app from your Home Screen but still store it in your App Library, there is a very simple way to do so!

Find The App

Find the app that you want to move and hold your finger down on it like you are going to remove it.

Remove App

Once the box will appear. Click on Remove App, and then another box will appear that gives you the option to either Delete App or Move to App Library.

Move To App Library

To move the app, click on Move to App Library and your app will be removed from your Home Screen.

Can I Move The App Back To The Home Screen?

Once you have decided to move an app to the App Library, you might decide to move it back to the Home Screen.

Find The App

This is also very simple to do, as you simply need to begin by finding the app that you have decided to move from the Home Screen in the App Library. Once you have found it, hold the app down with your finger.

Add To Home Screen

While you are holding your finger down on the app, the box will appear that says Add to Home Screen. Click this box to move the app back to the Home Screen so you can find it in both the App Library and the Home Screen.
