What does the game offer?

The game marks a major moment for IO Interactive, the studio best known for the Hitman series. Instead of adapting an existing Bond movie story, the developers are creating a completely original take on the famous spy, focusing on his early days before becoming the legendary MI6 agent fans know today.

In 007 First Light, players follow a younger and less experienced James Bond during his time in MI6’s training program. The story begins after Bond performs a heroic act as a Naval air crewman, which earns him a place in the newly revived Double 0 program. However, things quickly spiral out of control after a mission involving a rogue agent ends badly, forcing Bond to uncover a much larger conspiracy threatening the State itself.

The game takes players across multiple locations around the world while delivering a cinematic spy adventure filled with action, stealth, gadgets, and high-speed vehicle sequences. IO Interactive is also giving players freedom in how they approach missions. Some situations can be handled quietly through stealth and infiltration, while others allow players to go in aggressively using weapons and close combat.

Beyond the main story, the game also includes replayable missions with modifiers and optional challenges. This means players can revisit missions with different conditions and experiment with new playstyles long after finishing the campaign.
