If you are planning to build a new gaming PC, particularly one based on AMD’s latest AM5 platform, then we recommend checking out this 7800X3D bundle from Micro Center. What does the 7800X3D bundle offer?
The bundle includes a processor and motherboard, so it’s similar to many of the other bundles available at Micro Center at the moment. Plus, you can also throw in a G.Skill or Corsair DDR5 RAM kit for additional savings, which is nice to see considering the recent RAM price hikes.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is considered one of the best CPUs for gaming and can handle pretty much whatever you throw at it with ease. As far as the specifications are concerned, it packs 8 cores and 16 threads, paired with a base clock speed of 4.2 GHz. However, this can be boosted up to 5 GHz for demanding tasks like gaming. As it’s an X3D CPU, it has a big L3 Cache size of 96 MB, which significantly improves performance by allowing the CPU to access frequently used data more quickly. The result? Motherboard: ASUS B650E-E TUF Gaming
Micro Center has paired the 7800X3D with the ASUS B650E-E TUF Gaming motherboard. However, even though it’s designed for gamers, it doesn’t offer any flashy elements. Instead, it has an all-black theme, which is great for those who want to create a minimalistic build that doesn’t turn their home office into an RGB disco.
As for what the board offers, it has an 8+2 VRM structure, which will ensure stable power delivery and protect the components from issues like sudden power spikes. It also has enlarged VRM heatsinks to prevent overheating issues. Aside from that, it can support up to four DDR5 RAM sticks, with a max capacity of 256GB, which will be more than enough for most users. The board is also compatible with Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors, so you can easily switch to another CPU in the future, such as the current flagship Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
Storage-wise, the motherboard offers three M.2 slots so you can connect your SSDs. For standard HDDs or older SSDs, there are four SATA 6Gb/s ports. For connectivity, there are eight ports on the rear and seven on the front, with a 2.5G Ethernet port for a wired internet connection.
RAM (Optional)
While the Micro Center bundle includes two components, you also have the option to throw in a RAM kit to save a few extra dollars. Both offer speeds up to 6,000 MHz, but you’ll need to pay $10 extra for the Corsair kit due to its RGB design.

Ignoring the optional RAM right now, the 2-in-1 combo will cost you $400. This is a generous $170 cheaper than the usual $570 price tag, if you were to buy the CPU and motherboard individually.
If you were to buy all three components individually, you’d have to pay $789 (or $779 with the cheaper G.Skill RAM kit). But with this Micro Center bundle, you can take them home for only $609.99.
