Micro Center’s latest 9800X3D bundle means you save $150 when paired with a DDR5 motherboard and RAM

Micro Center is one of the best retailers for PC components in the United States, as they are almost always running a range of hardware bundles with big savings. For instance, their current Ryzen 9800X3D bundle comes packed with two high-performance components, and you can take them home for $140 cheaper – or $150 cheaper if you also include a RAM kit.

What does the 9800X3D bundle offer?
Just like most other bundles available at Micro Center, this one comes packed with two components: a processor and a motherboard. However, you can also customize the bundle and add a RAM kit, which will help you save a few extra dollars. Micro Center often used to simply bundle all three together, but we suppose the recent RAM price hikes have relegated memory to an optional extra, which is generous of them.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
The bundle features the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, which is the successor to the 7800X3D. It’s one of the best CPUs for gaming on the market, offering specifications and performance that make it stand above the rest, particularly when it comes to 1% lows; in other words, you can expect a more stable framerate and fewer stutters while gaming. This is thanks to its 96MB of L3 Cache, which helps reduce memory latency.
The 9800X3D has the same number of cores and threads as its predecessor: 8 and 16, respectively. It also operates at a base clock speed of 4.7 GHz, which can go all the way up to 5.2 GHz for better performance in demanding gaming or productivity tasks. This CPU is also launched as the first overclockable Ryzen X3D processor, so it’s ideal for enthusiasts who want to push clock speeds further.
As it has a moderate TDP of 120W, you don’t have to worry about crazy amounts of power draw. If you opt for the G.Skill Flare X5 RAM, the three components would individually cost $850, but the bundle price drags this down to just $699, saving you a total $150.
