According to an official announcement video, users will be able to overclock the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. AMD claims that it offers 20% better performance than its predecessor, the 7800X3D, and with the help of overclocking, you’ll see even better results. The upcoming X3D processors will also reportedly offer better thermal performance than the previous-gen CPUs, so we can expect the temps to remain within safe levels even with overclocking.
In any case, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will officially launch on November 7 with a $479 price tag. Its predecessor, the 7800X3D, currently costs around $475. So, at the moment, it’s obvious to wait for the 9800X3D to hit the market, as you’ll be getting better performance for a slightly higher price.
