A few days have passed since the launch of the latest Call of Duty title, Black Ops 6. It went live at the end of last week and has no doubt seen a massive number of players jump in to see what the latest in the long franchise has to offer. While the game is available on Game Pass for PC, we can also see those playing via Steam are giving plenty of feedback.
Not long after it launched, players were celebrating a ‘Very Positive’ rating on the popular PC gaming platform. However, we can now see that it has dropped down to ‘Mixed’, and performance issues make up a decent chunk of that negativity. Players report frequent crashing and disconnects, even in the single-player campaign.
Black Ops 6 now has ‘mixed’ reviews on Steam
As we said, it was off to a decent start, but now the negative Steam reviews are starting to roll in. It’s hard to say that they’re all justified, though we can say that a certain level of quality is to be expected from a game that will set you back $70. It’s not all bad, but we spotted plenty of people having gripes with the game’s performance and stability.
One reviewer reported that the game “crashes every time” they try to load into multiplayer. On that note, the need for a connection to the server at all times is an annoying downside. As this review explains, losing connection will disconnect you even during single-player content. Another reviewer expressed their annoyance with internet drops in campaign missions, resulting in mission restarts if your progress failed to save as a result, labeling the game “a buggy mess”.
