“accurate” Nintendo Switch 2 replica showcased by accessory maker at CES sparks excitement amongst fans

If you’re lucky enough to be on the guest list for CES 2025, you could get a chance to experience what holding the next-gen Nintendo Switch 2 feels like, as accessory firms claim to have a replica based on the real console.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a hot topic, with fans eagerly following any leaks or rumors to get an idea of what to expect from this next-gen handheld console. We’ve previously seen leaked details about its hardware, including a reported NVIDIA chipset that points to DLSS for the next-gen handheld. Now, popular accessory maker Genki has not only released a full-rendered video of the Nintendo Switch 2’s design on their website but is also said to be showcasing a replica of the console, which is claimed to be based on the real thing.

Behind closed doors at the Las Vegas Convention Center this week, Genki is showcasing the device, which is a replica molded from the original. Invited guests can hold the replica in their hands and get a feel for what the Switch 2 is said to be like. Genki is also taking this opportunity to demonstrate the accessories they have planned for the Nintendo Switch 2 and promote their business.
The Switch 2 will be a lot larger than the first one
German publication Netzwelt had the opportunity to try out this exciting replica, and their initial thoughts were, “The ‘Switch 2’ feels significantly larger in the hand.” This suggests that, if the replica is accurate, we can expect a much bigger screen—possibly 8 inches or larger. The publication also notes that the device’s size is roughly comparable to the Lenovo Legion Go, which has an 8.8-inch screen.
While it’s unclear whether this model is based on the real Switch 2, one intriguing detail is the mysterious, unlabeled C button. Genki has included it in the replica but is unsure of its purpose. Nintendo has yet to officially reveal its Switch successor, but the company has confirmed plans to do so within its current fiscal year, which ends in March 2025.
