MSI has been cranking out BIOS updates to improve the performance of Ryzen 9000 series processors. Recently, we saw MSI give the option to ramp up the TDP for Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X from 65W to 105W in the AGESA 1.2.0.1 BIOS version. While they claimed 13% better performance, the reality is that it didn’t seem to do much for in-game performance.
AGESA 1.2.0.2 also brings promising improvements for the Zen 5 processors, and it is live right now for various motherboards. If you were looking to purchase an MSI motherboard, check out our MSI B650M Project Zero and B760M Gaming motherboards as we’ve reviewed them in-house.
